Tyrion felt distressed when he heard Daylight's comment. Great, he had wished for a good conversation and now he had dropped a brick. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to say something wrong." His voice died away.
He really meant what he had said.

The meaning of his mother's name made Tyrion smile. Slowly he looked up to Daylight. "My sister often told me that our mother had been a wonderful person." Remembering all the times Cersei or his father had told him that, was the reason the corner of his mouth formed the hint of a sad smile. "She died giving birth to me. Ever since that day my father showed me that he wished I would have died instead of her."
On that day I haven't only killed his wife but also his smile. I got often told that since that day he never smiled again. I have killed him twice in my life.

"I guess it is just a sad coincidence that we share the same beginning of our names. I never asked why they gave me the name I have."
He kept it to himself, that there was another person whose name had begun with a Ty-. That's too personal, at least for the moment.
"My older brother's name is Jaime. He's the only one who ever treated me like everyone around him." Talking about him made him wonder, what his brother was doing at the moment and if he was save. No matter how different the sides were on which they were now standing, part of him would always pray that Jaime would be save.

"Do you think, that the Ty- could mean something? You know, like you have the same beginnings or ending for words, like the -ed, -ing, - be and so on?"
