[ if lance wanted to pay closer attention, there's a slight chance that he might have noticed mako looking at him, picking up on those little parts of himself he is pretty convinced he does a great job of keeping hidden. as it stands, lance is more interested in trying to mimic the motions from before - not exactly doing a great job, and there's probably a flourish or two added in that are entirely unneccesary. but you know what? what if water also wanted to be a laser beam?

except that it doesn't work at all and lance is back to turning to mako, grinning a bit sheepishly. he straightens a bit to pay attention to the new movements mako is showing, kind of getting it but also...unsure. ]

So I haven't actually ever...gotten it to change phase yet? I'm really great at moving it around and carrying a bunch of it? But...yeah.

[ okay okay okay. mako tells him to try them out and lance takes a second to breathe, before going into the movements a bit more seriously this time. or, more so, with a bit more care. ]
