[ well, in all honesty, though firebending is part of his identity, it's only recently that zuko had started to really question his family, the fire nation, and the way his people firebended. they'd distorted the ways to be fueled by rage and anger --- zuko had only just discovered the true way, the right way. it put him a little more at odds with how he sees them, and sort of himself. so, in a way, being a waterbender could be a good and humbling experience, if he wasn't just being a sulky baby about it. ]
