[Maes starts to chuckle, but ends up coughing again and it sounds pained. He tries to answer between the coughs.]

[He winces, hoping that last part was lost in his coughing fit. But he's seriously never felt this sick before. He decides to try something else so as to maybe get attention off of that particular phrasing.]
I heard you out here...and then I heard...[He swallows.] I heard my daughter.
[Maes straightens up, the coughing fit passing. He's still burning up though and now that he's closer to Keith he can make out that he's not looking much better. He hadn't been able to see it before, thanks to the hallucinations and his missing glasses. All that aside, he tries to look more put together than he feels.]
