[many things suddenly happen at once]

[the first thing is that the fork ~magically~ slips through his fingers when his power suddenly reactivates]

[the second thing is, now that he's intangible, he. . . uh. falls forward, arm slipping from the door as he very nearly faceplants onto the ground again. fortunately! his reflexes are quick enough to save him this time around]
