It's not lying.

( he shifts around, bringing one leg up. his firebending's back on, though he can tell by how weak it feels that the sun must have gone down. it's still enough that he can cause the flames to jump a bit higher with an absent-minded flick of his hand. cook faster, food, he's hungry too. )

When you explain something to someone, you have to speak their language. So to speak. Like if I was going to explain a plane to you, I wouldn't say, it's a mechanical vehicle with wings and an engine that relies on fossil fuels — I'd say, it's something people built that looks a little like a bird, and you can ride in it and steer it. And you wouldn't tell me about all the complex things you do when you're logging, you can just say, hey, we cut down trees and haul them down the mountain and I'd get that, too. You're just omitting the parts that don't make any sense to someone who hasn't lived that life.
