PHASE TWO of AKVOS (Log #2)
![]() ![]() the tides shift. Darkness has begun to spread, rapidly, throughout the entirety of Akvos. Different areas of the Kingdom are plagued by different instances of terror, but one thing remains clear: the Circle does have the available tools to help . . . of sorts. Many of you have discovered different areas of Akvos to focus on, but by and large? There are no shortage of people to help, of people to fight, and of creatures to save. Hurry quickly, Circle members. Akvos needs your aid. ![]() SHADOWS IN THE DARK. Shadow creatures have begun to multiple en masse in the Depths of Markolos, and are spreading to every which corner of Akvos. They will be at their highest density in the Depths, and take the form of terrifying creatures with massive claws and gnashing teeth. They seem to be impervious to non-magical damage, so some unique tag-team action may be necessary in order to actually kill the things. ![]() THE SEVEN SEAS OF WHY. In addition to the shadow creatures, each area is plagued by a different onslaught of dark magic. Each area has different needs, and each area will require your attention. Focus your energies where able, and do your best to stem the flow of chaos before it is too late. (Check here for a breakdown of types of effective magic.) ![]() THE WHISPERS OF KEA. Throughout the duration of this battle, investigations taking place by members of the Circle will begin to unveil certain . . . clues. The Princess is still missing, but members of the Circle are getting close to unlocking where she is. King Kathashun, at the beginning of this journey, indicated that she was the key to stopping all of this, and while most of you have no idea who that guy is, he seems to be genuine. (Right? Right.)Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the various threads back in the OOC post from before! NOTE: The Princess' messages will unlock a hint to their meaning (if they aren't solved by the time this happens) once this log hits over 750 comments. :) We are pretty sure this will happen well before the End Log for Akvos happens in January, so we won't be putting a time limit on it. ;) Have fun! |

The boar just... stopped? That doesn’t mean Konoha isn’t still really scared of it, it’s giant, it’s got tusks, and she’s seen even a smallish boar seriously hurt someone, those teeth were nothing to joke about, but... that crack didn’t sound good either....
After a moment of fearfully watching the creature for any sudden movements or indication of rage, Konoha finally swims towards 2B, giving the boar as wide a berth as she can and keeping an eye on it even as she peeks over the reef cropping to try and see where the android landed.]
2B? 2B, are you alright down there?
no subject
2B, on the other hand, seems fine, if a little disgruntled. It appears the crack was the coral breaking and not her. Sitting up, she shakes a few colorful bits and pieces loose from her hair before tugging her blindfold down away from her eyes. For usually being so neutral, she looks pretty annoyed (and bewildered, too) right now. Seeing Konoha at least causes a brief look of relief to pass over her face. Good - she didn't get hurt. ]
Just great, [ she replies, starting to pull herself to her feet. It's obvious that she's too heavy to swim; her body shows no inclination towards floating, despite her hurry to get upright again. ] We need to kill that thing.

But 2B is moving and seems fine, and she actually can see her face properly which helps read the subtle expressions more clearly...
Kill a giant boar, though?!]
Wh- What?
[She looks over to the boar in alarm, obviously intimidated by its size even though it isn't trying to attack anything any longer. Or... even move? And speaking of questions-]
Where did it even come from?
no subject
[ truth be told, 2B is pretty intimidated by its size, too; the regular-size boars back on Earth were damn tough, even when they were up against a state-of-the-art battle robot. One like this is definitely going to be hard to take down. But what choice does she have? If she lets it run rampant, it'll destroy the corals here, and maybe even some mermaid lives, too.
With grim determination, she reaches for the heavy katana floating just behind her, stepping over pieces of shell and coral as she grips the handle in both hands and heads towards the giant boar nearby. What's the best way to do this? The head is the obvious weak point, but reaching it will be hard and dangerous, with those tusks. Maybe the feet first...
However, something happens before 2B can launch her attack. The boar's outline shimmers, then waves, like a mirage. Then, still looking bored as it stands there, it begins to disappear, its body evaporating into bubbles that swiftly float up and away through the water, and 2B is left staring dumbfounded at a bunch of empty space. ]

This is underwater, though, and even if they had rifles... the water made moving hard enough, let alone attacking something-]
2B, wait, maybe the merma-
[But before she can even finish the idea, that perhaps the merwomen with their spears and their agility in the water might be better hunters for the beast... it vanishes.
Like.
Evaporates.
2B isn't the only one left dumbfounded, as Konoha floats in confusion, mouth hanging open.]
Did... Did the boar just vanish? 2B, tell me the boar just vanished. I'm not going crazy, right? It's gone, right?
no subject
Why are boars suddenly appearing and disappearing? Underwater? She looks over at Konoha blankly, then shakes her head. ]
... I saw it, too. What the hell is going on here?
[ frustration creeps into her usual neutral tone, her nose wrinkling slightly in annoyance. ]
It has to be that witch. Has this happened before?
no subject
The... witch? Astoria?
[Why would she meddle like this when they were in a whole different world? And with boars underwater?]
I've never seen anything like this bef... ore...
[Wait... She didn't mean powers, did she? Boar powers?]
no subject
What other witch is there? [ flatly. ] ... What is it?
[ something is wrong?! ]
