[Welcome friends, to the belly of the beast. Literally. Weblums, they have been told, are an integral part of the cosmic ecosystem. The feast on dead planets and dead stars, turning old to new and converting what residual energy there may be. And the secrete a substance that, they have also been told, is essential to constructing a teludav.
However, after jumping and running and diving through various parts of the giant creature's digestive tract, including a great deal of stomach acid and swarms of small critters that are very keen on digesting him, he's kind of done.
He's rescued a random Galra hanging out in the beast's stomach, reunited with Hunk, and now there's another swarm of softball-sized jelly-fish looking jerks who want to melt them with acid.]
Ugh... not again.
[Welcome, try not to get digested.]
[ Dreamscape 2 - New Dogs and Old Tricks ]
[This dreamscape begins in a strange and distinctly alien wooded setting. A small shelter is situated nearby, made as comfortable as possible given how long they've been here, on the back of this whale-like creature. A small campfire burns, and not far away, Keith is having a very serious discussion.
With a wolf-like creature, various shades of blues and grays and white.]
All right. I throw the stick... [He waves the stick in his hand to emphasize, then points at the wolf.] And you go get the stick. [Pointing at himself.] And bring it back to me. Got it?
[The wolf tilts its head in a universally canine display of I don't know about that but if you say so, friend. Keith looks at the animal skeptically before he throws. And both he and the wolf watch it fly. Keith takes a breath, shuts his eyes, and finally looks to the wolf. The wolf looks at him.]
...okay. We're going to try this one more time.
[ Dreamscape 3 - The Last of the Real Ones ]
[The light falls low and eerie, a chill illumination that casts strange shadows, reflects here and there, dim for now. Keith has been following, follow following following, through light years and wormholes and desperation after Shiro, to this place.
It feels wrong. Everything about it feels wrong. It's about to feel worse. Light flares, racing one by one along a line of pod-like chambers that line the walls, each one containing a single figure. The same figure. Shiro -- likely familiar enough to anyone who has met him here over and over and over again, though with hair a dark black, eyes shut, motionless.
Dread builds. Palpable, a cold and unrelenting fear. No.
No no no.]
"Hello Keith." [The voice is behind him and Keith wheels to face him.]
Shiro... [Keith's voice, like he's half choking on the words.] It's gonna be okay.
"Yes, I know." [Shiro speaking once more, but the voice is wrong, the tone is wrong, all of it.]
We just have to get back to the Castle. [Keith is pleading now, watching as Shiro moves towards him, that unnatural expression on his face. He knows it won't be so simple. He knows he knows he knows. It doesn't matter. He has to try. He will try. He will die trying.]
"We are not going anywhere." [Shiro charges, and then it's a blur of shields and fists, of blades and cybernetic limbs that radiate lethal, luminous energy.]
[ Polankos ]
[After finally breaking out of the dreamscapes and twisted memories of the Rift, emerging into the strange new area is almost a relief.
Almost.
It quickly becomes much less though. This place is strange. Getting out of the water to explore is even stranger. Dry land has been nothing but a memory in so long...
Doesn't matter. There's something to be done here. Keith may not agree with the Princess' optimism entirely, but whatever the outcome, they can't leave an entire group of people to be trapped and die. Not happening. Once they manage to find the mermen, getting them back through the rift is going to be... tricky.]
We need a better system than this... We don't have time to get separated and stranded in hallucinations with all these people.
[Keith mutters, looking like something will present itself, or at anyone nearby as if hoping they'll have some solution.] We need to get them out of here faster than this.
[And of course there's the fact that Astoria's warning has been echoing in the back of his mind since he heard it.]
[ Wildcard ]
[Anything not here? Hit me up. I'd be happy to toss out additional dreamscape options if there's something specific not here. Or any non-dreamscape option too. I'm on plurk at seasided for plotting as well!]
