It really doesn't. It doesn't make you more wise or a decent human being or- well- a person, in general. It just gives you something to hold over people who aren't as smart. Most people who pride themselves on their intelligence above all else are just as awful as the people who pride themselves on having money over all else. It's all just power dynamics.
