[ there's something in percy's shoulders that squares itself off just a bit, perhaps to prepare himself, mostly to look like he's rather smug about the whole thing. he hasn't actually shifted in front of anyone save vex, most of it done while clinging to the sides of walls and steeling himself for the change. so it takes him a moment to get himself properly gathered.
when he shifts, it's almost a mess of a thing, not quite refined at this time. he seems to condense one moment, collapse the next, a dark shape on the floor that suddenly oozes outwards into a pair of long, wispy claws crawling forward in misty-shadowy form that looks upwards at molly from the floor with a pair of deep blue eyes.
he can't talk of course, he's tried, so instead he shows him by utilizing the door he's been beating on relentlessly, slithering beneath the narrow crevices with his entire body, disappearing shadowy top to tail beneath the door and then weaving straight back out through a slit in the side of the door after a few moments.
he hates it.
but also he's kind of smug about it. better than pulling sticks from your chest so TAKE THAT!! ]
