[ kaz isn't sure yet how he feels about the realization that there is now a routine to these things. that they wake up, and immediately touch base. that the first few days are spent understanding the layout, knowing where things are kept with little interference. he's still not certain yet what the chaos is they're supposed to be stopping, but he has ideas.
he's settled in the lounge both to give his leg a brief rest and to wait for inej. he had a feeling that she would search him out today, and he figured her curiosity would get the best of her. why they haven't gone out yet, why kaz seems all but nonplussed with the idea of multiple locked doors.
she appears while he's there, but he has a sense for it. can tell when she's close before she finally settles next to him. he eyes the notebook and the token, and as she offers it to him he takes the token and runs it between his gloved fingers. interesting. he doesn't mind the feel. ]
