Alright.

[looking back up at the ceiling, he decides to go for something ridiculous that might send a slight shiver up someone's spine.]

This was several years ago that I recall hearing about this. Apparently, it was fashionable in one certain country to take long hair and fashion it into a sort of style where it would be piled high and kept very stiff for a number of days, since it was so tiresome to do every day. An interesting look, to be sure. Now, one woman who was the word on fashion, she of course decided to try this out. Of course, it being summer, she had no idea how long it would truly last.

It was all well and fine, except that two days later, she noticed that something had bitten her in her sleep. Going to the doctor, she discovered it was a snakebite, and that if she hadn't come in, she would have been very ill from the poison. Now, there were no snakes in her house, she was positive after a thorough inspection, and decided to write it off as a fluke. Except, the next day, there was two more. And on the third day, yet another. And there was no possible place for a snake to be hiding, except...

In a panic, she took scissors to cut off her once long and proud hair, frantically chopping it as the truth occurred to her. And when the creation fell to the ground, it fell apart, revealing not just one snake, but a whole nest of tiny, deadly vipers, all now very, very angry.

[he shrugs.]

What happened next, I'm not sure. Maybe she left the country. Maybe she was bitten enough to fall ill. Legend doesn't go that far.
