Well we don't exactly have laser knives back home but it wasn't that hard to figure out, really. [They have small scale lasers and such to help with hero training as well is in medicine.]

And back home, they say that because we started developing Quirks, technology changed and we abandoned space exploration. If not for that we'd probably have explored the moon by now.
