welcome to the horologium.
![]() ![]() welcome to the horologium. Some of you know it is coming. The World Jump, the chaotic thrust into a new universe. But some of you are new, and though you know what the mission is, it is a bit . . . troubling, sitting around and waiting for something to happen. But eventually, you get a message on your watch. It shows Astoria . . . dark hair framing her features, her voice light and musical. She sounds like herself, for the first time in some time . . . that spark of determination back in her eyes. A MESSAGE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD WITCH.
![]() THE AWAKENING. When you wake, you are greeted by metal — there’s an expanse of silver all around you. The cot you’re laying on is somewhat rigid, like a flattened wedge of cotton more than anything, encased in a capsule-like structure. Should you inspect your surroundings, you’ll find that there are three more cots in your room..or more notably, another person in the room in of itself. Depending on where you’ve been roused from your slumber, however, you’ll find that your circumstances differ. ![]() WHISPERS IN THE DARK. In a way, it feels as though you’re suspended in time. ![]() INVESTIGATIONS The ship is fitted to house approximately 500 people — it’s a bit of a ghost town, however, lived in but abandoned no less. Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These areas of the world are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore -- you may use as much leeway as you want in order to come up with what your character will do. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the various threads back in the OOC post from before! |

[He looks like he could cry.]
Yes. Yes please. That would be so great.

[Aphra smiles, then holds her hands as if she's about to do some magic and transform his food. That's not at all how this works.]
... Wait. What're you gonna do for me in return? This is hard on me, you know. So I want something. Money, treasure, whatever you've got.

He sighs, defeated.]
I don't have anything.
[He looks up, past Aphra at the food on her table a little longingly. He'll just have to suffer he supposes.]
I could owe you a favor...or my own power is healing. If using your power is exhausting or something maybe mine can make you feel better.

[She's considering. She also doesn't think that's true. He must have something. But it's not like healing will help her much, at least not now. Her power is not exhausting or draining in any way, but that's to be expected from her.]
Let's just say you owe me. It'll be nice having someone in my debt for once.
[Moving on! Food stuff!]
What's your favorite meal back home? Describe it in as much detail for me as you can.
no subject
Yes! Thank you so much.
[If he'd had to part with anything he could have maybe split with the small tool kit, but even that would have been difficult for him. Owing someone a favor seems more manageable...of course he has no way of knowing if he might regret that decision in the future.
Picking a meal though, that's even harder. Should he go with trying to replicate something his mom makes? That might be difficult to get right in description. Maybe he should go with something a bit more standard.]
Are there any limitations on this at all? I'm familiar with a lot of food...what if we don't have the same kinds of food?
no subject
[Just so things are crystal clear.]
We definitely don't have the same kinds of food. No one here is from my galaxy, far as I know. And none of the food we've encountered literally anywhere has looked like mine. Which is why I said you've gotta tell me as much as you can and then we'll see. I'll do my best or whatever.

[He had a feeling that was the case, so he should probably keep it simpler than what he might actually request if he could get anything. He takes a breath and begins]
Okay. So there's this fairly simple but tasty dish called katsudon.
[He then proceeds to describe in excruciating detail the process behind making the dish. Which...might not be exactly what she's looking for, but when you ask him to describe food that is just where his mind goes: the recipe. He tries to remember that she might not have the same products -- but how does one describe a porkchop or even a pig? He does his best.]
It's all topped on a bed of rice and...man it is SO good.
