[ when he wakes up, it’s with a bit more whiplash than he’s used to. he’s been through world jumps. he knows how off it can feel at first. but this, this is different. this is off-putting. because he opens his eyes and sees the wooden slats of a ceiling and his gut says the slat, a lurching, overwhelming feeling coming with it.
but it’s not. it’s not ketterdam, it’s not the slat, it’s…something else. somewhere else.
he gets up quickly and leaves quickly, not quite taking the time to realize what all has changed so much that it has changed. he’s in new clothes - not his coat - but they are still black. still fitted. he moves through the busy tavern space and tries (a little desperately) to notice what is different. there are no guns, no clean-cut coats, none of the more modern pieces he would normally find. everything seems rougher, older, and kaz reminds himself this is another world.
it’s outside the inn that kaz realizes he left his cane. that while his gait has been tilted, slightly, there wasn’t a need for the actual support of it. he comes to a stop to look, noting the leather boots, the belts, the bags, but then something…else.
is that a tail?
( the answer is yes. it is a tail. and horns. his skin is also white. tiefling time??? )
but what most others will probably see is a white tiefling, dressed in sleek black clothes, having some kind of existential crisis in the middle of the road. ]
DUSTY COFFER
[ kaz breaker very soon finds himself to be a regular at the dusty coffer, and there is a chance that no matter what day it is, you’ll find him there in some capacity. it only takes a day or so before kaz has a table (a corner spot, his back always to the wall). there is usually, if not always, a drink - though you’ve never seen him take a sip from it. there is little pattern to his appearances there - sometimes it is the morning, sometimes the evening, where he will quietly and with a kind of familiarity move through the throngs of rowdy patrons to his seat, which is always, always empty. whether or not he’s paid off the staff or something else, it is always that way.
unless, of course, you didn’t get the memo. to which you will have a not pleased tiefling stalking towards you. he does not look pleased, either. ]
You’re at the wrong table.
[ otherwise, he'll be settled at that table. talking to a variety of people who come up to him, talking in hushed tones, looking...probably vaguely sketchy. if you're brave enough, feel free to approach. you never know what you might find. ]

[ my plurk is disarmingly if you want to come at me!!!! or just wildcard a scenario and i can roll with it! ]
