THE DUSTY COFFER.

i. drink

[It's funny, how you can all but give up on something. The longer Nott stayed in the Circle, the more she believed she may never be who she once was again.

And then she woke up, five fingers and toes, brown skin, she touches her cheeks and they are round, her body is the same height but heavier in a way that makes walking awkward for a couple of steps... And then she remembers how it feels to move in this body.

A halfling named Veth, restarting her collection of button themed handmade jewelry, wearing Nott's usual roguish outfit minus the bandages and mask, happens to be making herself the center of attention at the bar.
]

HEY EVERYONE! CHEERS TO BEING OURSELVES FOR A DAY!

[She raises her tankard of mead into the air and a few similarly drunk patrons join in.]

ii. task

[It's pretty clear Veth is dressed for sneaking, so it's no wonder she was approached to help this rando embezzle booze for a split of the profit. Honestly, she would do this for free. If "free" meant payment in alcohol. But hey, coin is pretty useful as well.

She's managed her way into the back room of Rhug's establishment, but she's reached a bit of a predicament. She's a little... little to be carrying around any of these heavy, human-sized barrels of liquid alone. Which hasn't stopped her from attempting by any means.

She's almost lifted one, but then she starts to stumble.
]

Oh shit—!

THE SILVER BLADE.

i. task

[Gods, this is low-paying work compared to what she's grown used to in recent months. Prior to Astoria, that is. Still, one can't get by stealing everything, and saving Alfield from those gnolls was one of the Mighty Nein's more... feel-good adventures.

So saving some no-name village from venomous wolves shouldn't be too hard really. She just needs someone to help her do it.

And she can't just waltz up to Molly and be like, hey, everything you knew about me was a lie, so she's lowered her standards a bit and is now assessing random passersby on the road near the guild hall.
]

No... Doesn't look like they can hold a sword. Hmmm...

Wait—! You!

[And now she's accosting someone. Don't mind the halfling woman covered in button jewelry and thrusting a crossbow in your direction.]

Have you ever killed anything before?

THE LIBRARY.

i. spellbooks

[There is someone she still hasn't forgotten. She may be Veth again, but the moment the library catches her eye, she can't help but wander in, almost in a trance.

The association between libraries and her boy are so strong now. He would have loved to see this place, and she tries to imagine his reactions as she drifts through bookshelves. Her fingers trace the spines of the books.

Nothing for wizardry, as usual. He would have found it familiar in its disappointment. But he did like history as well.

She pulls one title at random, one that seems to be at least magic adjacent in its content, and finds a shadowy corner to crouch in and start to flip through the thick tome.

She doesn't have much patience for reading academic texts. There's a lot of squinting and furrowing of brows. She certainly doesn't look like she's enjoying herself, yet she refuses to put the thing down for some reason.

ANYWHERE.

i. wildcard

[Hit me up with anything. We can plot beforehand on Plurk or on my plotting comment on the announcement post here.]
