The audience is convinced of the effectiveness of the sorceress's potion, nodding and sighing in awe at Nier's choice to take his nagging beloved into his arms and proclaim his intent to protect him. Mettaton doesn't at all mind the gesture, but he makes sure to clap his fingers over his mouth in surprise before visibly relaxing, like it's the safest he's ever felt. Even though he's not a heavy robot anymore, Nier does feel strong regardless.

Picking up on the way in which Nier deliberately warns him that physical contact is about to be initiated, Mettaton makes sure that when he places his hand against Nier's chest, he does it with an exaggerated flourish of his wrist to prepare him for the gesture. He doesn't find the warnings necessary, but he'll follow suit anyway.]
