Library Mingle Log
Who: Everyone!
Where: The Library
When: Throughout their time in Struxta
Rating: PG, will edit if this changes
What: The Circle gets together for some research on what this place is all about. Please treat this like a mingle log--feel free to put up a starter and tag around!
The Library (hopefully) promises to have the answers that the Welcome Committee and the general robot on the street don't. Characters can access the information by computer, and the Library has just about everything that's happened in Struxta.
That's thousands of years of information to wade through, so get to work!
[ooc: As it says above, please feel free to put up your own starter and tag around! Characters can have heard others chatting about the library or been told about it by the Welcome Committee or have just wandered in. If you come across anything of interest that you'd like me to edit into or link in the main post, please just let me know.]

[Normally recent and current things are all Firo'd care about. But it seems like humans haven't been around in a long time--he's more curious about that than many of the recent goings on. Though, come to think of it, maybe they should keep an eye on those too.
...It's all too much.]
no subject
[The absence of humans was irksome. Tyrion wondered if he would ever get used to it while they were here. But then, so far the citizen of Struxta had been friendly.]
no subject
[There's already a ton of information to sort through--the idea that they're going to be picking through everything from war to a cloudy day is daunting.]
It sounded like there haven't been people for a long time, so whatever it is, it's gotta be pretty old.
no subject
[Anxiously he looked around, his gaze wandering over the Circle members that had gathered in the library. Tyrion asked himself, what horrible secret they would discover. For some reason he was certain that it would be an unpleasant surprise.
A chill ran down his spine, when he tried to image why there are no humans in Struxta. Sure, on the first look it would have been obvious to say that there had been a war but life had taught him, that sometimes the most obvious reason wasn't true.]
What would you like to search for? I mean, we all have certain topics we try to avoid.
no subject
There's something these guys like the Welcome Committee aren't telling us.
[Firo didn't honestly believe that they didn't know--he was certain that there was some deception; not knowing would be too convenient.]
no subject
[At first Tyrion had wanted to take a closer look of the local legends and myths since in them was usually more truth than in any of the gossips going around. But he knew that he could get lost easily in legends of foreign countries and therefore he wouldn't be of much use when it came to active research.]

I hadn't really thought about that part. I didn't think they'd keep records of everything.
[He says with some bitterness--bunch of jerks.]
Let's start with that--what do you think would happen here? I didn't see any damage from an earthquake or a fire...
no subject
I would say, that we shall bet that we might stumble upon some things you would never suspect, what people write down, so other generations can read them.
Maybe they have found was to conceal the damages? I mean this world is all synthetic ... that's the right word for it am I right? I've heard others use this word when talking about Struxta.
no subject
I'm the wrong guy to ask about words.
Whatever it is, it's a weird place, huh? I've spent my whole life in the city, but it wasn't like this.
no subject
[He turned his attention to the screen in front of him and frowned. This way of doing research wasn't the one he's used to.]
I wish they would have books instead of these things. I know how to handle books but these things are more challenging that the watch Astoria gave us.
no subject
All right. Are you gonna try and search for your thing?
[He'll let Tyrion take it for a spin--he seems to be the more cerebral of the pair.]
no subject
I'll see what I can find. I will let you know when I have found something that could be useful or what is just interesting.
[Although there are some moments where Tyrion got the impression that finally he had managed the fine art of using the technology of Struxta, for most of the time he struggles with it. The end result is a slow research.
He wished that he would have brought with him a notebook and some pens to take some notes he could do though once he would be in his room. He made a mental note to search for these supplies when he goes out in the city. For now he would have to rely on his memory.
After around an hour or so he looks for Firo.]
I have stumbled upon the word 'underground' a lot of times, together with 'tunnels'. There's something about it but so I couldn't find out more. What have you found?
no subject
Tunnels? Like a sewer system?
[Maybe left over from the Makers, since Firo's sure such a thing hasn't been needed here recently.
What about them? I haven't seen anything like that around here. ...Though there's so much crazy stuff going on outside, I guess I could've missed it.
[The thought seems even more likely once he actually says it. He curses himself under his breath; keen eyes are one of the few things he can actually offer, but they're useless if he's blinded by the hustle and bustle of this place.]
no subject
[He was familiar with sewers, thanks to his father. If these 'tunnels' would turn out as one ancient sewer system he would at least know a couple of things about them. And where sewers are, there is life - or was life, in this case.]
I doubt that there is much need of sewers here. But if they are there, maybe they found a way to hide them or make them look like something else? I guess here everything is possible.
[Tyrion made a short pause in which he was organizing his thoughts.] I guess that would be good point to switch the topic of the research. But before I oder we will do that, I need a break. What about a walk around the building?
no subject
He nodded and stretched.]
I'm not getting anywhere with this anyway. Do you have a destination in mind?
no subject
Too bad there are not parks here 'cause I would have suggested taking the food with us and sit there for a while. Man, what would I give to sit somewhere where there are trees and green grass. In the capital we had a wonderful garden with lots of exotic flowers.
no subject
Yeah? I didn't think we had much stuff like that back home, but now that I'm here... [Compared to this place, he grew up in a damn jungle.] I've never seen anything like this place.
no subject
[Even this place was more to his liking that the world they had landed on. It wasn't the first spot in Westeros he would choose to live but would prefer it over the Nations of Struxta at any time.]
You know the absence of any weather is eerie. No sun, no wind. Well I doubt that rain is a thing here because of all the technology. [At least there was a visible change of day and night. A small consolation but still one.]
no subject
[He suppresses an internal shudder and thinks back to what Tyrion had said before.]
What's the Wall?
no subject
[Whenever Tyrion thought about the wall, he also thought of Jon Snow and their journey together to the wall.]
Brave men serve there to protect the Seven Kingdom from what lives in the North.
[Tyrion thought that it was better to refer to everyone in Castle Black as 'brave men' instead of saying what they really were. But he had seen them and when he thought about what they were going to fight against, it was just right to say that they were 'brave men'. Perhaps the bravest ones in Westeros.]
no subject
Ice? How come it didn't melt?
no subject
I bet it is hard to image such a wall. I was in awe when I have seen it for the first time.
[Tyrion thought back of the moment when he was close to say to his father that is going to the wall. He would have probably died a short time after he would have arrived. The wall was not a place for a dwarf or anyone who was sane and treasured his life.]
no subject
[A massive, icy, crying wall... You're damn right that's hard to imagine.]
So there's magic back where you're from too..? Hey, why'd they need a wall made of ice anyway? What about stones?
[And why a wall at all? Who's in the North that they're so worried about?]
