The Library (hopefully) promises to have the answers that the Welcome Committee and the general robot on the street don't. Characters can access the information by computer, and the Library has just about everything that's happened in Struxta.

That's thousands of years of information to wade through, so get to work!

[He feels fine... so far. And they seem to have plenty of food goop to sustain themselves, at least for now.

He'd much rather face a human/android threat than an environmental one; you can't punch the sky.]

Not necessarily! We're probably fine with the industrial lighting and the goop, and noxious gas can dissipate over time, too.

I'm assuming Astoria won't send us anywhere we can't survive, but.

Even if that's the case, she'd have to have solid information on what everywhere's life. And that assumes she wouldn't get a kick out of screwing with us.

[Even though she's been pretty nice so far, you never know! In Firo's rather paranoid worldview, there's too much about her that doesn't add up.]

She's a little sloppy, but I don't think she's malicious. If she wanted us to have a hard time, she's taking a lot of steps to avoid that even in just getting room and board in advance. In El Minha she got us the King's support, too.

...Still, none of the rest of this adds up, so it's not like we can go and say she's doing this because she's nice.

She could be nice and just, like, super bad at this and desperate.

Maybe. But we can't let our guard down so that she can turn around and stab us in the back.

[Somehow. Though it's pretty hard when for a couple weeks every few months you're stuck at her house eating her food.]

Even if I have my guard up, there's not really anything I can do if she does turn on us? Except for Lori, my magic is nulled.

And I'm gonna guess you don't have a weapon or anything? You should look into it.

My handbag is pretty heavy, but that's it.

Anyway, even if all you can do is bludgeon her with your bag if things go south, you should still be ready.
