[It's not easy teleporting and finding a gun pointing at you. There's something to be said for instinct though, in that there is a moment where he tenses and is ready to teleport away or pull a weapon of his own (a measly dagger? what was that really going to do?). Instead it's very much a move of displaying his open palms and keeping a steady gaze on that trigger finger. Maes had thought Hawkeye had been given enough of a heads up to warn her about his appearance, then again, if she truly was caught off guard he'd probably already be dead.

Yeah, he was going to have to tread lightly with teleporting around Hawkeye that was for certain. He lowers his hands in a slow, purposeful manner when the gun is no longer staring him in the face.]

Given the circumstances I'll try not to take that personally.

[He holds out one of his hands as if that wasn't obvious. But given how he'd just been greeted, he wants to make sure he's laying as much out for Hawkeye as possible.]
