meddy's noises turns from stressed to suspicious when they hear simon's question. their eyelights blinking at a slower rate as they stare simon down, now eerily... hovering in place. it seems they're examining him, sizing him up before they make a decision.
in the end - either because they decide they trust him or they're desperate enough - meddy zips close to one of daylight's arms and presses on it. there's a soft click and swoosh as something slides away, revealing something to meddy's now exposed cabling as they plug into day.
they're momentarily zapped when a surge of electricity rushes out of daylight again but meddy holds on, using the medical overrides of daylight to give the command for day's chassis to transform away and reveal his insides.
and it looks... looks strange.
the best way to describe his insides is that its a mishmash of machine and human, arranged and made in a way that's both impossible and yet existing: pipes that pulse with the steadiness of veins. a set of complicated 'lungs' that inflate and deflate with each wheezing gasp from day. gears churning as they keep the cables/muscles(?) moving. a strange sheen coats everything, smelling both of ozone and cooper.
and, most importantly, it holds what seems to be daylight's heart - a small chamber that holds a glowing core of some sort, as seen through the cracked see-through glass/translucent bone/??? that protects it from the outside. the core is pulsing like an actual heart, the iris of it an erratically flickering pinprick as arcs of electricity crackles and breaks now and then, soon dissolving into light if it escapes through the cracks of the covering. the outside of the chamber has tubes and attachments of all sorts hooked up to it, the energy from the core being pumped out of it in some lines or pumped back into the core by other lines.
basically? it's freaky looking and seems to be the biggest issue meddy thinks simon needs to fix. ]
