It hadn't taken all that long to disassemble the individual beds, piling the various rails and slats and other pieces up so they can clear them out and make space for the one larger bed. It's easy enough. The mattresses will be more of a pain to move and switch out, but even that isn't something Keith minds.

Somehow it's hard to mind the work at all when it's part of a more permanent solution to what they've already been managing. Keith has gotten used to the comfort of sleeping close enough to Shiro that he can drift off to the sound of his breathing, the familiar and reassuring cadence to his nights that it has become. They'd largely run out of excuses for it, but Keith had no desire to give it up.

He hears his name and straightens up, turning to Shiro. The smile starts over his face reflexively as his gaze falls on the other man, but after only silence follows, curiosity has both eyebrows raising half an inch. "Shiro?" Keith opens his mouth to query further when Shiro finally seems to locate his words.

Oh.

About us. The talk they've been circling in an elaborate dance. Keith can feel his heart slam itself against his rib cage, beating frantic like it may be trying to escape entirely. But as desperate as his heart may be to race away, Keith doesn't plan on running from this, even if it's oddly terrifying. Instead he squares his shoulders and nods.

"Yeah. We really should, shouldn't we?" The bed can wait, and instead he makes his way closer to where Shiro is standing. "Where do we start?"
