Yeah. And everyone kept trying to tell me it was fine if all living things there died, like if that was the way that world had to be it was totally okay. You know what, that's a load of fucking bullshit. I wonder how happy they are now.

Some of both. [She replies sourly, punctuated by another terribly unladylike snurfling back of a snot drip.] Astoria's fucking fantastic idea... we shouldn't have been helping anyone there. There was nobody left to help.

Just because they're cybernetic doesn't mean they're not people. They weren't going to be able to stop that storm on their own, and their whole civilization would have been wiped out.

Their civilization was already wiped out along with the rest of the natural world. They're going through the motions, but nothing there was alive.

[It's still such an awful and disturbing situation to think of. Even in the most extreme visions of her own world's future she'd seen... it wasn't at that point yet.]

Something doesn't need a heart beat to be alive. Did you actually talk to any of the androids that were below ground? They thought and felt and reasoned - just because they aren't flesh and blood doesn't mean they don't deserve to survive.
