This really doesn't make it seem like a good sign for us continuing to stay here.

It's definitely worrisome, but Astoria should be able to do something, right?

[Not that Ann wants to bank on that— she's not the type to wait around for someone else to step in and help. Not anymore— she'd rather take action if at all possible.]

She can send us all to different worlds, so even if she needs our help to do it, she should be able to maintain this one.

Though she hasn't really shown a lot of foresight thus far.

I think a lot of this is as new to her as it is for us... y'know, for better or for worse.

[She knows that might not be exactly comforting.]

She's doing her best, just like we are.

Maybe. But it still would be nice to have a little more communication. I mean, the Circle isn't the only organization out there who does things like this. I've worked for some of them - and they at least had the decency to fill us in on where we're going before they send us there.

[It'll make it feel a little more like a team and a little less like prisoners getting shuffled around.]

[There's no skepticism or sarcasm there— instead, it's a genuine suggestion, and Ann sounds reasonably hopeful that it might actually help.]

Since this whole thing is unprecedented for her... I bet she could use some pointers. More communication would make things easier for all of us.

If it's unprecedented, then why did she do it?

[It's a question that's been bugging her, because Astoria just seems unprepared in every way.]

Why bring us here in the first place?

It sounds like something was wrong... she has a job to do, but for some reason she couldn't do it on her own?

[Ann frowns, folding her arms across her chest and stifling another sniffle.]

I asked her a lot of questions when I got here, but she was having trouble giving me any straight answers.

Probably because she knew we wouldn't like them.

I don't know. I haven't talked to her myself, but I tend to avoid authority figures if I can help it.

[Most of Ann's experiences with authority figures have been pretty lousy, to say the least.]
