Don't Skip Your Flu Shot
Who: Everyone! It's a mingle post for the first week of Struxta sickness!!
Where: All around the temple
When: During the first week of the sickness
Rating PG?? At most??
What: Curry, blankets and pillow forts, and other assorted sick things
[With the Struxta illness sweeping through the temple like a wildfire, and with so many new arrivals trying to get adjusted to temple living, it's probably no surprise that things around the Astoria's little pocket of space have gotten a little hectic. Feeling under the weather? Looking for something warm to soothe that scratchy throat? Just want to curl up underneath a pile of blankets and not move for like, seven hours or so? Never fear! A Mysterious Helper (TM) has you covered]
A. Curry in the Kitchen
[The kitchen smells extremely nice during lunchtime this week, the only meal of the day that isn't pre-prepared by the misty servants. Like the scent of coffee intermingled with complementary spices. Those who take the initiative to investigate will find something pleasant waiting for them. A few pots of fresh made curry and steamed rice; a few pots of miso soup (a. . . little on the salty side, sorry); and some freshly brewed coffee already poured into individual mugs, along with cream and sugar and whatever additives your heart desires. It's all strewn out across the counter tops with a handwritten note pinned against the wall above the stove:]
Help yourself, and get well soon.
[There isn't any sign of the mysterious chef when you enter the kitchen, and if you arrive near the end of lunch hour, some of the food and coffee miiiiight be a bit cold. But hey! This might be a good chance to mingle with some of your new coworkers who are also seeking out a warm meal to help quell some of their cold symptoms. Just please don't sneeze into the curry pot, thanks. . .]
[Lunch will be laid out in the kitchen every day at lunchtime for the entire first week of the sickness. Help yourselves!]
B. The Temple Hallways
[THERE ARE BLANKETS AND PILLOWS EVERYWHERE]
[. . . no, seriously. For some reason, it's like you can't even walk down a hallway without tripping over a bundled up blanket or a pillow. What's up with that! For the most part, they're normal bedtime accessories, although you may find a bundle of pillows and blankets stacked up into an ENTIRE PILLOW FORT if you're lucky.]
[Pinned to the walls of the hallways (not every hallway, but enough of them that it should be easy to find one of the signs without wandering for too long) are more handwritten signs:]
Whoever can build the tallest pillow fort will receive one (1) high five as a grand prize. Good luck. Blanket provider is not responsible for anyone accidentally falling asleep in the hallways and blocking your route back to your bedroom.
[Hm. Well, that's weird. Anyway! You can build a pillow fort if you want, grab some blankets to take back to your room, or. . . nap in the hallways. Or do whatever! They're all free for the taking. Maybe you could even team up with another Circle member to try and win that extremely coveted high five??]
C. Wildcard
[Don't feel like interacting with any of the above? That's okay! Make your own prompt based on the event stuff over here, or just use this post for. . . whatever you want! It's totally and completely open for mingling for new and old characters alike, so. HAVE FUN ♥]

[ are you sick and inside your room resting like a good bean? if so, prepare to be disturbed with a delicate couple knocks on your door. should you decide to approach within the next minute or so and open the door, you'll be greeted by haru. ]
Um, hello there. [ very smooth opening, except not at all because she sounds clearly nervous. ] I know a lot of people have been getting sick. I'm feeling ok myself, so I just wanted to see if you might need anything. Some curry, or soup - maybe even coffee or tea?
...My name is Haru Okumura by the way. It's very nice to make your acquaintance.
Cooking Haru (stage one)
[ though the curry is great, the soup is... not her favorite. it's the abundance of salt, and overall it needs more of a kick.
so she's started whipping her own concoction. making sure to wash her hands abundantly before she begins (and thankfully she's not really sicker than a fever at the moment) haru spends her time in the kitchen making up her own soup. it's a little more typical of a chicken noodle variety, with freshly chopped up vegetables in the mix, and only lightly salted so that it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the ingredients.
and if you're coming in at the moment, then congratulations. haru smiles as she locks in a target. ]
Excuse me, would you mind giving my soup a try? I'm putting the finishing touches on it now.
Blanket disaster (stage two)
[ are you having a good time making a fort? getting it all together for that great contest?
unfortunately haru is not in the best of conditions. her fever has been progressing and she's beginning to feel weak just walking around, even as she tries to prioritize the well-beings of others around her. and wouldn't you know it? she's not paying attention to what's in front of her as much as she should.
this leads to a sad accident - she turns the corner of a corridor, but hallucinates a clear passage ahead. before she knows it, she steps and skids off a pillow and tumbles to the ground, dismantling part of a pillow fort ahead of her. ]
Ahh, ow! [ sorry... ]
WILDCARD
[ give me a prompt to roll with or pm me and i can arrange us one! haru will only get to stage 2 in the fever. ]
knocking on doors
[there's also like, a completely inexplicable amount of junk of varying actual use in his room. dead laptop batteries, portable speakers, clothes, swords that don't really look like they'd be all that effective in combat. it's unclear where he got any of it.]
Coffee? Yeah, okay.
[and, well, he hasn't met a rude person in the Circle yet, oddly enough, so, he'll go ahead and offer:] Dave.
no subject
Coffee it is. [ she smiles ] One cup coming up, Dave-kun.
[ and she turns to the side for a moment, away from the immediate view of the doorway, so she can get his coffee off. the pot of coffee she's prepared is on the ground and she kneels down so she can carefully pour it into a cup for him. her telekinesis is at least helping her get all this stuff around from door to door, so that's a relief. ]
It's not a very fancy sort of flavor, but it's just the right amount of strength to soothe a weary soul.

He stands on all fours, tail wagging slowly, and gives Haru a happy bark. ]
...who is it, Koro...?
[ somewhere inside the room, from under the blankets, comes a muffled voice. Koromaru barks again. ...Minato has no idea how to decipher that, so he's forced to poke his head out from under the blanket and squint at the figure in the doorway. ]
Hi. ...Sorry, you said your name was?
no subject
It's Haru Okumura. [ she... wants to come in, but polite mannerisms hold her back. it isn't appropriate to just let herself in, despite the circumstances. ] I was just checking to see if you want any hot food or drink.

I don't know if I've got the appetite to finish up a whole bowl, but if you're okay with that, sure.

Even a little bit of soup can bring up your energy. Hot foods have that special magic to them. [ and she'll pour some of the soup into a bowl for her, making sure it gets plenty of veggies in there. ] Here. Let me know what you think.

blanket disaster
Ryuji just kind of nods.][Moving over, he picks up a spare pillow from the western wall that once served as Yoyogi Park. Poor Yoyogi Park.
But he has a pillow now, and he holds it out to Haru.]
To the victor goes the spoils.
[Are you okay?]
no subject
[ she rubs her arm and looks around, now getting a better sense of her surroundings, and the destruction she has wrought. she'll take the pillow ryuji offers though without second thought, holding it to her chest tight. ]
Did I ruin your work here? I'm sorry.

If you're sick you shouldn't be moving so much.
[ it's the obvious conclusion to jump to. ]

[ thank you hajime for your insight. haru just carefully shifts on the ground so she can properly sit, legs splayed underneath her, knowing for sure they'll bruise up. ]
I was trying to get to the kitchen. I must have overestimated my own strength.

cooking Haru!
Instead of finding the kitchen full of other people helping themselves to the spread that's been laid out, however, she finds Haru, and she cranes her neck towards the pot on the stove to get a better look at whatever she's working on.]
Soup? I didn't realize you cooked.
[They really do need to take the time to get to know each other better, Ann thinks— Haru hasn't been with them all that long.]
Sure, I'll taste test for you. Are you sure you should be up and around like this, though? If you're sick, you should be resting.
[Pot, meet kettle.]
no subject
[ and no, ann wouldn't know that she's been making attempts to learn the basics. haru doesn't really make habit of talking about herself to begin with, and everything was so hectic following her father's death. at least being here together is a good opportunity to bond, reading ann's mind quite clearly.
she pours enough soup to reach half-way into the bowl and then offers it to her. ]
I'm ok right now. I don't feel any worse than a headache, so I rather help out. [ she's new and needs to acquaint herself with others. an offering of hot drink or soup can help with that, or so she hopes. ] I haven't been cooking for a long time though. I never really had to, so let me know your honest opinion.

[ Is that a word? It is now. But she should be availed of just what she's getting into before he gets any closer! ]

[ honestly she rather just shoo him off to his room and tell him to rest, but she's been noticing a pattern in this building. the pattern being that everyone is very stubborn about their well-being. ]
If you are this sick, you should have a bowl and then return to your room to rest.

Blanket Disaster
[Naoya's sickness hasn't completely overtaken him and the pillow fort was going well (if a little crocked), but he was far more worried about the other person than something he could rebuild. And him without being able to use his Persona to heal her too...]

[ aside from the killer headache, the chill in her body, that her legs are a little banged up now. but it's not the worst she could be, so she's ok. ]
I must be doing worse than I thought. [ she rubs her face with a hand and then takes a better look around, realizing what she's done ] Oh no. I'm sorry for ruining your fort!

i'm here for soup tasting
The girl in the kitchen smiles at him at the exact moment his own expression cracks into a broad grin, so here they are, two people zeroing in on targets for completely different reasons that just happen to match up well.
In short: hell yes. He's already there, leaning his elbows on the counter away from any of the food, thrilled.]
You read my mind! Who knew I'd meet someone so kind and generous this quickly?
no subject
[ his eagerness gets a quick giggle out of her, surprised he's so exuberant despite the sickness going about. it seems like everyone is getting affected one way or the other, but he must be better than others if he's so cheerful. ]
It'll be ready in just a minute or two. You can grab a bowl in the meantime.

haru's the cutest door to door saleswoman
haru is met with a vague smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, and he considers her offer. tea... would be nice; it's a little against a fortune-teller's creed to read their own future, but he can't say he isn't curious about what leaves would have to say about the world here. ]
Tea would be just FINE, Okumura-chan. Natsume Sasasaki; the pleasure is MINE. [ nice and easy; he's an idol, even if switch is a little underground and sort of frustratingly on a break. well, he isn't so frustrated with it now that he's here rather than at yumenosaki, but. you know. ] What kind can you ofFER?
she tries!!
[ she didn't expect so much eager affect in his voice! surely a good sign of his condition if he isn't miserable. her bright smile perks up a little more as she clasps her hands together. ]
It's nice to meet you, Sasasaki-kun. [ what a mouthful of a name too! ] The coffee isn't anything too strong, but it has a bitter taste that can wake even the sleepiest people up. The tea is earl grey. It leaves a strong after taste that's adored by tea connoisseurs.

It's more that it just reminds her of something else. These symptoms, minor as they are, had been the first things that she'd felt of the terminal stage of the previously dormant V-Type infection. She knows it isn't the case, of course. She's been cured! What's more, everyone else is just as sick as she is-- or sicker-- so it's obviously not a relapse or a recurrence or whatever you call it.
There's just that niggling concern, that faint worried whisper in the back of her mind: What if it is? What if everyone else has this one sickness, and she has the thing that almost killed her?
It's silly, of course. Stupid to worry about. But she's worrying about it anyway, which is why she's not socializing with everyone else as much as she might, otherwise.
It doesn't stop her from putting a warm smile when she opens the door.] Well, isn't that sweet of you! [She says graciously to the girl, her mouth quirking up in a slightly teasing smile. She recognizes that hair.]
Didn't you tell me your name was "Noir"?
no subject
[ she just chuckles a little, nonplussed about what should be a secret identity being unveiled. really, even her friends figured out who she was in less than a day after she refused to reveal herself. she can't really pretend like it's the best disguise - a phantom thief isn't meant to be seen at all, after all. ]
Noir is... my heroine identity. [ she beams a smile, figuring that's better than saying "i'm a vigilante" ] Outside that I'm Haru. It's nice to see you again, Sheryl-chan. Are you feeling alright?
