Who: Bolin and YOU?!!??!
Where: All over the place.
When: Throughout the sickness event.
Rating Most likely will stay PG.
What: A large former-rock boy gets his bearings then becomes miserably sick. Special appearance by a small ferret.
THE WHERE-AM-I, WHAT-IS-THIS PROMPT (BEFORE SICKNESS):
[ He barely had a chance to speak to Astoria before the mysterious woman seemed to whisk herself away, off to handle some other matter of grave importance. Now, Bolin's definitely not opposed to helping some people out, but this might be the worst time to pull him. As far as he knows, his hometown is going to be destroyed by the work of a scary, domineering and possibly-insane tyrant if he doesn't get a message across in time. There is no time, and he would love to help these people out later, but he has to go home immediately!
Pabu being with him for some reason is really great and quells some of his anxiety but it's not nearly enough to put him at ease. So, he's chasing the misty servants around, trying to get one of them to speak to him. ] Wait! Just listen to me! I cannot be here! [ They seem to do a great job at evading him, phasing right through him when he tries to touch them. He spots one phase right into a door, and Bolin slams open that door. ] PLEASE!
[ It's the door to the bath? Sorry if anyone was taking a soak in there. The where-am-I prompt is now also the suddenly-naked prompt. Just pulling out all the classics. ]
THE SICK BOI PROMPT (WEEK ONE):
[ Despite how little mind Bolin seems to actively pay to his own health, he's actually the sort who doesn't get sick easily. Toughing it out on the streets as a child must have built one very strong immune system, able to take on anything. So, it's rare for him to get the flu. It's an especially bad flu too. He's sniffing constantly, and his mind is all a-fog. Even Pabu seems concerned about him, but there's nothing the little guy can really do but poke his nose in Bolin's face. ] Okay, Pabu, I know we never trained for this, but I know you're smart. [ Loud sniff. ]
Do you know what tissues are? Do you think you can find me s-s-s'ACHOO!!
[ And at once, a huge gust of wind passes by, triggered by his sneeze. Bolin's an Airbender now, apparently, and he knows nothing at all about how to be one. Two things can happen now:
1. His gust of wind is strong enough to knock your character off their feet, along with many other miscellaneous items, probably. Sorry about that. Or ...
2. His gust of wind blows his beloved fire ferret way, way up into the sky, where he lands on a ledge, barely hanging onto ... life. Sorry, Pabu. ]
STILL THE SICK BOI PROMPT (WEEK THREE):
[ And now he's slowly going blind? Hey, what the f#$% (censored because he's a nick toon). A few days into the week and Bolin's vision seems to have blurred to the point where he can make out the vague shape of things in his surroundings, but he's lost on the details. This means it's very hard for him to tell people apart until they start to speak. When he comes across a person somewhat shorter than him, who has more of a feminine build (they may or may not actually be a girl), he's quick to rush up to them and hold their face affectionately. ]
... Opal? [ No ...... ]
WILDCARD
[ OOC: yeah honestly i'm up for anything ... if anybody wants me to write a starter, give me an emoji and i'll try to ... write a prompt based on it. ]

[ she has firebending and a mild understanding of how it works, and she's not afraid to use it ]
no subject
This is proof enough for him. This ... tiny young girl is the Katara, and she's aged down for spirits-know-what-reason but he's pinning the explanation down on 'Astoria shenanigans' and choosing not to think too deeply about it. ]
My name's Bolin -- But wait, I already said that. I'm with Korra, the current Avatar, and I don't know why you're a teenager but I'm always stoked to meet another member of the original gang!
[ Stoked enough to forget about what was stressing him out before. He'll remember to be stressed again when the excitement passes. ]
Is Toph here too? Please, I want to see her!
no subject
katara is fully aware that aang isn't going to live forever and that another avatar will replace him. it's not something she actually wants to think about though, especially considering she has no idea exactly when the cycle is going to repeat next. when does this korra person become the next avatar? how soon is it?
it takes her a moment to realize she hasn't actually verbally responded to a single thing he just said, and is just staring at him. ]
Hold on. Korra? You're from the future?
[ she ignores the toph question i'm sorry, fanboy ]
no subject
I would say ... yes? [ He doesn't know how Astoria-shenanigans work but it's an easy assumption to make. ] Actually, you're from my past. Or, the present, because you're still alive at the time I'm from -- and doing very well for yourself, I might say! But the you that you are now, is from the past --
[ Now he just overly complicated a very simple concept. ] Yes. I'm from the future. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
this is. a lot. ]
Sorry, can we-- could we change the topic? This is...
[ her head hurts. ]
no subject
For Korra to be the Avatar, obviously, Aang has to have died. Yeah. He pretty much told a young girl her future husband is going to die way, way before her. ] I'm ... I -- probably shouldn't have said all that.
[ Or at least, consulted Mako first before he went spoiling her on her life. ]
no subject
[ it slips out before she can think better of it. katara sighs, dragging a hand down her face, before deciding to try this again. the future is literally right in front of her; she can make a lot of guesses based on the little bolin had just told her. she's apparently very... accomplished? does that mean the war went in their favor? he asked what would she named her kids, so is she a mother?
okay, yeah, no. she can't do this. ]
Sorry. That was really rude. This is just... I didn't think this is how my day was going to go.
no subject
No, you're right, I'm just an idiot. You're just so ... amazing, and I got too excited about meeting you that I didn't think.
[ He hangs his head down low, feeling that guilt eating at him. Despite being so obnoxiously friendly, he's actually terrible at reading people or situations. He's especially terrible at knowing what's appropriate to do in a situation. ] I'm really sorry.
no subject
okay, well, she'll approach that again at a later date, preferably at a time when her ego needs a boost. for now, there's... well. she's not even sure what about any of this she wants to discuss. katara very keenly remembers the period where she became very obsessed with knowing her own future and how badly that went, so now having a way of truly getting that information? it's kind of scary.
no, not kind of. it's extremely. ]
Why don't we just... start over? From the beginning? [ she points at herself. ] Hi. I'm Katara.
no subject
[ The over-the-top enthusiasm was obviously scaring her so he decides he should probably approach this like she's just another person, and not one of the greatest Waterbenders in the world. ]
Is it ... fine if we be friends? [ He's a bit tentative about the offer, a little unsure, because he wouldn't be surprised if she'd rather not speak to him again after the way he had messed up before. ]
no subject
[ the avatar's friends are her friends, because whoever this korra person is is still aang. in a spiritual sense.
granted, she still adds, ]
As long as we don't talk about... you know.
[ future stuff. maybe she'll be more willing later, but not right away. ]
no subject
[ He should really stop talking but he's three-parts excited one-part nervous to be Katara's friend, and rambling incessantly is how he copes with most of his feelings. ]
I can't believe I'm friends with the Master Katara!
no subject
And I can't believe I'm friends with... [ hm. ] Can you tell me more about yourself, Bolin?
[ all she really knows is that he's friends with the next avatar. ]
no subject
Of course. I'm Bolin -- [ Or so he's said for the third time. He also doesn't have a last name but he's hoping that it's 'Beifong' one day. ] I'm supposed to be an Earthbender, and my brother was born a Firebender, but all that's ... kinda changed since coming here.
[ Yes, he's half Fire Nation even if he doesn't look it at all. ] I'm also dating Toph's granddaughter! Or at least, I hope ... I still am.
[ Trouble in paradise. ]
no subject
[ somehow, more than anything, this is what katara sounds the most shocked about. she probably shouldn't, really, because toph has every right to get older and eventually decide she wants babies.
and yet. and yet. ]
She didn't steal them, did she?
[ and yet, #doubt ]
no subject
Did Toph steal babies in your time? I feel like I would've read about that somewhere ... [ He's learning something very new and very strange about his hero. ]
no subject
No, she didn't. [ ... ] As far as I'm aware, anyway.
[ they all get into weird shenanigans so, honestly, katara wouldn't be surprised if she turned away for five minutes and the gaang ran around with another baby. ]
I guess it's just a little weird picturing her with kids.
1/2
She had some wonderful children, though. One of them leads her own Metalbending Police Force, and kept order in my hometown. The other founded her own city! Zaofu, home of the Metal Clan, and the one of the safest places you could live in.
[ Which kind of got conquered but at least he knows that's all settled now. ]
no subject
[ He lasted maybe 5 minutes. ]
no subject
[ prob... ably... katara already knows that toph makes babies now, so. that's fine? ]
You're dating her granddaughter?
no subject
I don't know. The last time we met was ... rough. She might never want to speak to me again. [ Nobody cares about your love troubles, homie!!! ]
no subject
or, at least, katara has enough tact to not say it like that. she's definitely thinking it though. ]
What happened?
[ that's more polite and less blame-y!!! ]
no subject
I kind of ... joined up with a tyrannical dictator who betrayed her family? [ He was dumb, and he knows that now. ]
I didn't know she was a tyrannical dictator at that time.
no subject
hm. ]
I see.
no subject
I thought I was helping people. And I was so stubborn about it, I didn't listen to the people I should've been listening to.
[ He does look remorseful at least. ]
...Look, I don't always get things right.
