WORLD JUMP # 1: EL MINHA.

welcome to el minha.
It will happen at random- you could be asleep, or wandering the Temple, or a variety of other options. It will feel a little strange, like a sudden warmth spreading across your skin, and then your bracelet will light up and a semi-familiar voice will be heard.

I hope you are able to help the people of El Minha! And oh- in case I didn't mention it already, water is very, very valuable here.

And then you will blink, and it will be bright. Bright, and warm, as you are standing just inside the grand walls that protect the impressive city before you. At your hip there will be a small bag with a few bits of coin - nothing too crazy, and definitely not enough to last you the entire stay (which...you're not exactly sure how long it will be), but enough to get started. Your presence brings a couple of glances, a stare or two, but overall the city seems to continue on with its day.

Welcome to the Red Desert, the city of El Minha.

THE PALACE
After a few hours of being within El Minha, the King has heard that a large amount of travelers are now wandering within the city limits. An audience is called in front of the Royal Palace, and King Kathashun steps out onto the dias. He is dressed rather plainly, for a monarch -- a purple robe, with some gold bangles and bracelets, but no ornate crown or anything like that. However, when he appears, the natives around you grow quiet, at the presence of their King.

“I understand that there are a lot of new people, within our fair city. Welcome to El Minha, the Jewel of the Red Desert. Enjoy our culture, our people, our wares; we welcome you, and hope you enjoy your stay.”

There is a pause, though, as King Kathashun seems to weigh out what he wants to say.

“I normally do not spend my time greeting tourists to our city, as our Crown Guard typically handles educating our visitors on our ways,” he continues, folding his hands behind his back. “But the heart of our city has been heavy, in recent months, and I feel it is my duty as King to be clear, to be honest, and to speak the truth. Recently, we have been attempting to hunt down individuals who wish our city harm, who have harmed my family, and my people. The Syndicate has been active, as of late, and I warn all of you who are not familiar with El Minha to avoid certain areas of the city should you wish to keep your pocketbooks.”

There’s a slight quirk of his lips, as he says that, before he tilts his head in a polite gesture of greeting toward the crowd.

“Please, enjoy El Minha. And should any of you garner any information concerning the Syndicate, please do not hesitate to contact me.”

For the duration of your time in El Minha, King Kathashun will be within his palace . . . or so the Crown Guard says, should you ask them for an audience. That being said, you might be lucky wandering the streets. The King of El Minha tends to mingle more with the common folk than the Crown Guard would lead you to believe . . .
THE GRAND MARKET
Welcome to the heart and soul of El Minha - a massive outdoor market in the center of the city. Covered by fabric stretched between the buildings, this market feels almost like a city, or living soul, in and of itself. It is constantly moving, constantly evolving. Anything you could imagine is for sale here - spices, jewelry, weapons - whatever you’re looking for, anything at all. While you won’t necessarily find specific items from your home, you can find any matter of similarly made or crafted ones. Think cheap knock-offs, or unnecessarily well-made versions, because they can vary widely. There can also be items of some level of magic, though nothing particularly strong or overly impressive. (feel free to ask the mods on the previous ooc post about if an item is too over-powered to be found in the market - and also know that there’s always the chance you could find it in the underground. It just depends on how determined you are to track it down.) Stalls can range from cobbled together boxes and goods to grand, incredible stands - it all depends on what you’re looking for, and how long you’re willing to look. There is no map here, so tread lightly!

The merchants that work in the market are experienced, practiced sales people. They know how to sell to anyone, but especially tourists. Barter to your hearts content, but it will take a little more than a ‘please’ to get those prices down. They have expert eyes and will not take pick-pockets or thieves well. However, as experienced and watchful as the merchants may be, that won’t stop young kids on the streets targeting the tourists as well - so keep an eye out on your pockets!

As long as you have coin, water, or something to trade you are welcome as long as you’d like to stay here in the El Minha Marketplace. However, if you loiter for too long, you might get a swift kick in the ass to either get moving or buy something - they’re not giving away anything for free, and that includes the shade.
THE SPARKLING SAPPHIRE
As the announcement from King Kathashun comes to an end, all members of the Circle will be communicated - in one way or another - the direction to the Sparkling Sapphire. Free housing, you’ve been told. All you have to do is go, give them your name, and let them know you are part of the group that King Kathashun has directed here.

Here, as it turns out, isn’t too shabby of a place. A large building with plenty of rooms, it is clean and fairly busy, with a bustling tavern area and rooms upstairs. You can pick up your key from the older woman behind the front desk, and are directed to the staircase in the middle of the establishment. The rooms are clean, but plain, with one or two beds depending on your preference.

Downstairs in the tavern you can find food served for both breakfast and dinner, which is included in the room. Otherwise, there is a small fee for food or drink, and the servers are talented and experienced and very, very friendly. It is in the tavern that you can find the hookah, and some strange liquor as well, but it’s up to you if you choose to drink it. The food is incredible, beyond incredible, and they can make almost anything that you’ll like, though it may come out a bit creative.

The main room is comfortable - with a roaring fire but without the suffocating heat. There is a bard in the corner, who will sing or tell stories or simply play, depending on the feeling of the room.

Have a drink! Or a meal! While most of the people here are indeed Circle members, there may be a couple of natives mixed in as well. Take a load off, relax, and enjoy the hospitality that only a King’s Coin can bring.

THE FIGHT RING
The ring itself is somewhat on the outskirts of town - a colosseum-esque collection of buildings that watch over a pit-like arena. The buildings protect the Fighting Ring from any outside eyes, or any unwanted attention, as this area is solely under the command of The Syndicate. Anyone is allowed inside, as long as you don’t cause any problems and don’t start any trouble. There are a number of what you can assume are Syndicate-employed figures that are constantly canvasing the area as well, so don’t expect to be able to sneak in unless invited or allowed.

The Fight Ring is open for volunteers at any time, and once you’ve been checked for any fun business and told the rules (no magic, only weapons allowed are the ones provided, the fight will end once one side relents or is taken out of commission). If this still feels like your cup of tea, you are invited to take a spot in line. Perhaps, if you’ve shown yourself promising enough, The Champion may appear to protect their crown. Otherwise, you will find plenty of adversaries around.

If you are looking for a less aggressive route, there are plenty of seats open to watch, as well as many other members of the city taking a break to watch the fights, and they certainly wouldn’t mind sharing some of their favorite stories of matches or victories. The Champion is the resounding favorite, but the stories shared will vary to the point that almost no useful information can be gleaned.

Join in the festivities that surround the ring! Pick up some food, bet on some fighters, enjoy the competition, and maybe you’ll be lucky and catch a sight of The Champion, or any of the other legendary figures of the El Minha Fight Ring.
THE GOLDEN PHOENIX
The Golden Phoenix is the central location of the Syndicate . . . and locals will make absolutely no effort to hide that fact from the Circle members. However, people don't seem to be afraid to go, though you definitely need to have coin to get through the door.

There are multiple tables where various dice and card games are being played, as well as old slot machines. There are multiple employees in dark uniforms wandering around, offering drinks to all those who are spending coin on the machines, free of charge. If you loiter too long without spending money, you will be asked why you're there -- not in a threatening way, of course. But the relationship between the Syndicate and the King isn't all that great, as of late . . . can't be too careful with spies.

In the back of the Golden Phoenix, there's a tiny racing ring in the back where small lizards are being raced in a little track set on a table. You can place bets on any of the lizards and, who knows? You may win a prize, including a little lizard! How cute! (Be careful, though: they nip.)

But out back, there's another lizard racing ring, though these ones are . . . well, they're certainly not tiny. In fact, people seem to be riding on them akin to horse racing . . . and jockeys are a dime a dozen, in El Minha. Fancy yourself the next Triple Crown winner? Step right up, step right up, and take a spin on the track outside!

Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore. There will be some NPCs interacting with characters as well, so keep an eye out for those as well! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the mod questions thread back in the OOC post from before!

From this point forward, the Circle has become involved with the political stasis and climate of El Minha. What your character finds out, decides, and does from here on out will affect the future of this city- one way or another! But what you do is completely up to you. What you discover, explore, and uncover in this city will be yours to discover, explore, and uncover. Who knows what you might find? :)

"That's true. She has bad been around a lot, therefore such an exotic gift would brighten her day." It as easy for him to image Dany's surprised expression, the way she would examine this figure. Perhaps she would ask him, how he had managed to get hold of something so beautiful.

"Planets, you say? And you went there without magic? That is interesting." He didn't knew if there was live on the Seven Wanderers in the Known World. But who said that it couldn't be? The Known World was a planet too and yet various lifeforms were living on it.

"Maybe the salesman can give us an answer" he remarked hopeful. A question that shows interest and I'm sure I can't left the stall without buying it. he thought.

He waited until the clerk had turned his attention towards him and asked his question.
Apparently the dragon's based on the ones that were part of the Chinese culture. Tyrion had never heard of a land called "China" but he decided that he should swallow down this question. That was something he could search later. Maybe there was even a member of this "China" in the Circle or someone who had heard about it.

"Yeah! We used interstellar travel and quantum jumping. Normal stuff like that." One of these days someone will inform Daylight that not all universes has access or even knowledge to those sort of things. "I heard you could use magic to get to places but I never experienced it."

There's a thoughtful pause on his end. "Well... I never experienced magic personally. My Auntie Laura and Uncle Leeds did though. When they were running their organisation and got into all sort of adventures."

His original guardians always had the best stories when it came to that in Daylight's opinion. Auntie Laura's utter fury when recounted the times she and others had to handle 'fairy nonsense' were the best nights for bedtime stories.

"China, huh? That sounds like a cool place if they have things like this running around." He gestures - not pokes! he's learned his lesson about that by now - to the statue. "So you're definitely going to get it then, huh? It's really nice of you to get something to cheer her up." Daylight can appreciate a thoughtful gesture like that. "It sounds like you and her are real close."

Tyrion was sure that it was visible on his face, that he didn't have the slightest clue what Daylight was talking about. He politely nodded his head, but that was all he could do.
He just jumped from one planet to the other? He tried to image how this would look but had drawn the conclusion that it was perhaps not like he was picturing it.

"You have to be careful with magic, that is all I have learned from reading about it." he remarked. He remembered the stories of the Children and their magic, this small folk which some think never vanished but was still living in Westeros. Magic was something to admire and wish for, but it also had its price.

"Then you and I have something in common. But I have never met someone who had experienced magic. To be honest, where I come from, you usually understand something bad under the term 'magic'."

Tyrion agreed on Daylight's remark about China. "I wonder how big they are in reality. They appear to live on the land. See, they have no wings like the dragons I know."

He nodded his head at the next question. "But first I have to ask, if I could afford it." But before he could ask the clerk how much he wanted to have for the figure, he heard the assumption Daylight made about him and Dany.

Suddenly he didn't know what to say. Yes, he was close to her, mostly because of his position as her Hand. Yet a part of him would always thank her for saving him when he had been at his lowest point in life. That was something she wasn't aware of because it was his best kept secret.

"She is a good person, someone you want to follow out of free will because she wants to make this ... the world from which I come from a better place. Not many people are born to rule and having a good heart at the same time."
He wasn't aware that a soft smile had appeared on his face, as soon as he begun to speak of her.

After a minute pause, he cleaned his throat and finally asked the clerk how much he wanted to have. The figure wasn't as expensive as Tyrion had thought, still he had to remind himself that he should find a way to get some money, since he was sure that there would be a time when he would have to buy something for himself too.

"The first time in a while, that I have spent money on something" he stated.

"Spent money on something for someone else or for the heck of it?" Daylight tilts his head when he asks the question, sensing there's something significant in the statement. He isn't sure what it is exactly yet and yet that won't stop him from snooping it out.

Observing the dragon figurine that now belongs to - oh shoot! names! he keeps forgetting that - to his talking buddy now, he gives it one last appreciative glance at the workmanship and details that were put into it. Then he addresses the other again, his winglets wiggling a bit in mischievousness.

"Judging by the smile on your face, you're real fond of your queen or she's just as awesome as you're making her out to be," he teases, all in jet of course.

Maybe a mixture of the two? He recalls the fondness in others' voices whenever they spoke of his dad or his mom, praising their accomplishments and recalling the good times they had with the couple when they were still alive and well. "I'm sure she'll love it. You went to a new world and the first thing you do is get her something!" At least, Daylight thinks this is the first thing he's doing. "The thought alone will mean a lot to her"

[personal profile] smallprince 2018-05-21 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's another way to say it." he laughed. If Tyrion was honest with himself, he had thought that he would buy something for himself, most likely a fine wine or a new outfit to wear, since the black he was wearing wasn't suitable for the weather and it was making him even more of a foreigner.
And yet here he was: with a bronze dragon in his hands and no idea when he would return to Westeros. As long as I am here, it will remind me that it's always worth fighting for a good cause.
He didn't miss the teasing tone in Daylight's voice. It was just natural that his behavior was questionable. "I am both", he stated after a short time, where he had searched for the right words. "I have met many people in my life, powerful people and common people. Yes, I have met only a few people I was willing to follow because I truly believed in their promises."

To fully understand the impact she was having on him, he would have needed to tell much more about how Westeros was rules and a lot more about himself. Including the not so admirable things he had done. He was still haunted from some of these old demons, and one would never stop its work, that was something Tyrion knew for sure.

"It is really the first thing I do here" he said astonished. "I think so too. Sometimes I think, that we too seldom try to make others happy with simple gestures or small presents. Not as fancy as this one, but you know ... just something to let someone knew that you like them."

By all means Tyrion had made presents to people he cared for, expensive ones but that had been in his old life. A life he would never want to pick up again. His new life, that had started when he had left the capital with his friend was all that was counting.
That is not the time and place to get sentimental.

The clerk took the figure, and wrapped it in a thin piece of cloth before handing it over to Tyrion. At least now no one could see what he had brought. Strolling over the market with something expensive as this figure could be dangerous.
He turned around to Daylight and asked "Shall we explore the market together? I am sure it is more fun than going alone.?"
"By the way, I'm Tyrion Lannister. But Tyrion s enough." he introduced himself politely, with adding a bow. He wasn't sure if he should have kept his title or not. But no one was addressing him as Lord these days. That was a part of his old life.

"Make sure to tell her that bit too," Daylight cheerfully replies when Tyrion confirms that this is the first thing he had down upon arriving the city. "I think she'll be, like, doubly impressed by that. It's nice to know that someone is thinking about them even when you're not together and stuff."

When offered to tag along when the exchange is finally finished, Daylight is all too happy to follow him when they set off and ohhh! They're exchanging names. A good sign of possible friendship on Day's end.

He's quick to offer a smile and a half bow too when offering his own name, his winglets perking up high and happy. "I'm Daylight! Daylight vis Lornlit-" For a second, his mouth suddenly twists unhappily, like he's trying to figure something out before he continues on. "-the Sunsung. Kindled of Radiance vis Noxolarium, the Sundered Star and Kindled from Lorem Laurel."

He sticks out his tongue when he finishes his little spiel, clearly not interested in having to do that. "One of these days, someone's gotta find a better way to say all of that during a first meeting."

"I bet when I tell her that, she might think I am up to something." he laughed. But what other impression would it give? The first thing you buy is a present for someone and nothing for yourself. That was against his reputation but life's full of surprises, so why shouldn't he surprise in a good way?

"That's true. Usually you only give presents to your lover and not someone you like as a friend. Which is a shame, if you ask me."

When Daylight introduces himself Tyrion thought, that he could call himself lucky, that he wasn't having any titles, besides from Hand of the Queen, but that was something he could forget to tell here. "Wow that is a long name. In Westeros you could get mistaken for someone highborn Lord" he laughed. "I am afraid I have troubles with the full name. I hope Daylight will be enough. A beautiful name."

The comment about him being a 'highborn' does have an interesting effect on Daylight - Mostly in the form of him laughing nervously and looking away, his expression sheepish and almost guilty(?) in a way. It isn't... incorrect, really...

Nevertheless, his winglets flicks up high in the air, standing proud and pleased by the compliment with Daylight's own expression giving way to flattered and shy, happily so.

"Thanks!" Apparently, his dad had picked it for him when he was born. Day is honestly happy to have, well, 'Daylight' as a name. It was either that or Scorchground. Ick. "I don't think I've ever met a Tyrion before where I'm from. Does it have a meaning where you are?"
smallprince: (- 03 -)

"Believe me, there are more Lords in Westeros than you can count" Tyrion laughed, when he saw Daylight's expression. "It's really nothing too fancy. Sure, it comes with a few nice advantages but in the end it is just a title."

A title he had used to his advantage a lot of times. Yes, he had been proud of being a member of one of the most powerful houses in Westeros. On the other hand he had learned the hard way, that there were things this title couldn't give him.

"I have to say 'Lord Daylight' sounds not bad."

Tyrion put on a thinking expression. Names can have a meaning? "There had been two kings of the rock with this name. I have never heard of names having any meaning. I mean besides from nicknames you give to someone. But your name is not only your name but it's also the word for the light of the day. Do all names in your world have a meaning?"

He wondered what his name would mean in other worlds, if it existed there in the first place.

"They do! We have different titles for them any everything." It was a stroke of luck his parents both hailed from worlds where names and titles meant a lot to the individuals of the planet. It meant his parents put a lot of thought on what his name should be and he really likes it. "We have the fateriums, main worldclaims, and progenitor hails. They're all very important for very different reasons.

"Like, for example, the progenitor hails! They're meant to inform you who the individual was created or raised from, giving you an idea of what sort of individual they could be thanks to the influence." Daylight straightens up in pride, his winglets hitching up high and straight in glee while he speaks. "Lorem Laurel and Radiance are mine. They're... um... They're great and I hope I can do them proud."

He stops himself all of the sudden, realising how breathless he sounds and how much he must be boring Tyrion at the moment. He sends the man an apologetic look, his winglets now lowering in embarrassment for getting so caught up like that.

"... Sorry. I bet this is, like, super boring to hear."

[personal profile] smallprince 2018-06-01 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
He caught himself, thinking that it must be wonderful to know that the name you are bearing has a deeper meaning and not just a nice sound. It could add more to a person and it would be a nice start for a conversation.

"That is why your name is long? You got names from all the three categories? If that is the right word for them." Sure, compared to the name of his queen with all her titles Daylight's way short but she was not a orderinary person and therefore had the right to bear such a long name. He was just glad that he could simply address her as 'My Queen' which was time-saving.

"Your parents?" To see Daylight being proud of telling about where he was coming from and with whom he's connected through the bond of family was something he could relate to. There had been a time when he had been proud of who he was and where he came from. He always wanted to make sure his family was proud of him but in the end he had never earned the appreciation he had wished to receive.

"You can call yourself lucky, that you have loving parents. That is nothing to take for granted." He looked at his feet, trying to ban the voices in his head before he looked up to Daylight "If you really want to make them proud you will do so."

"Since you told me the names of your parents, I will tell you the names of mine. They were Joanna and Tywin."

Daylight has another reaction to a comment of his: An unhappy one. His winglets jerk up and then down, nearly disappearing from view as he's unable to hide the wince. His mouth twists with uncertainty for a few seconds but he manages to smile through the discomforting unease that's settled into his tanks.

"Yeah. Pretty lucky." How to word this...? "They sounded really... cool... from what my aunties and uncles told me while growing up. I hope I can make them proud. Got a lot to live up to."

Okay then- Feeling like that's enough information about himself now, he decides to change the conversation and aim it at his talking buddy. Tyrion gives him an angle he's more than happy to jump upon. "Joanna? Tywin? Those are nice names! I know where I'm from that Joanna means something among the lines of God's gracious one."

As for the name 'Tywin' however... "I guess that's another unique name from your world." "Is there a naming scheme where you're from? Tywin. Tyrion. Do all the guys from your family have a 'Ty-' starting name?"

It makes him think of Auntie Saralyn's own naming tradition. How all of the Cebil family members had '-lyn' at the end of their names.

Tyrion felt distressed when he heard Daylight's comment. Great, he had wished for a good conversation and now he had dropped a brick. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to say something wrong." His voice died away.
He really meant what he had said.

The meaning of his mother's name made Tyrion smile. Slowly he looked up to Daylight. "My sister often told me that our mother had been a wonderful person." Remembering all the times Cersei or his father had told him that, was the reason the corner of his mouth formed the hint of a sad smile. "She died giving birth to me. Ever since that day my father showed me that he wished I would have died instead of her."
On that day I haven't only killed his wife but also his smile. I got often told that since that day he never smiled again. I have killed him twice in my life.

"I guess it is just a sad coincidence that we share the same beginning of our names. I never asked why they gave me the name I have."
He kept it to himself, that there was another person whose name had begun with a Ty-. That's too personal, at least for the moment.
"My older brother's name is Jaime. He's the only one who ever treated me like everyone around him." Talking about him made him wonder, what his brother was doing at the moment and if he was save. No matter how different the sides were on which they were now standing, part of him would always pray that Jaime would be save.

"Do you think, that the Ty- could mean something? You know, like you have the same beginnings or ending for words, like the -ed, -ing, - be and so on?"

Daylight smiled at the apology and shook his helm in what he hopes is in a kind way, trying to quietly inform Tyrion that it was fine. It’s not like Tyrion knew about it and Daylight isn’t comfortable with revealing this information with just anyone because… well.. This isn’t something you just tell people about when you first meet them. Hi! My name is Daylight and those who I consider my family are all dead. How are you doing?

Yeah. No.

Besides— He’s eager to move on from the topic and is happy that Tyrion is willing to play along. At the question about the meaning and considering what he knows of Tyrion from their conversation so far, Daylight takes his time to think of an answer.

“I think so,” he finally says. “All words will have meanings but not all meanings will have words yet.” A little phrase he learned from his mom while reading her biography and collection of essays. “Just because you don’t know what it means yet doesn’t mean it doesn’t mean anything.” Another of mom’s. A bit trickier to say and to wrap one’s head around but when it clicked for him, Daylight has been tickled by what this meant ever since.

The conversation is interrupted by an explosion of beeps and chirps. If one looks at the direction of the noise, they'll see that a little white and red drone will be flying towards their direction. Judging by the bloom of light from Daylight's optics, he's more than happy to see them.

“Meddy!” Daylight reaches out, cooing at his friend as the drone cuddles up in the palm of his hand. “There are you are, buddy. Hey! Say hi to Tyrion, Meddy. He’s a friend of mine.”

The little bot — three feet in height and practically a tiny thing in Daylight’s gentle hold — peers over Day’s grip and raises a finial to wave at Tyrion.

Tyrion raised an eyebrow at Daylight's answer. He put on a reflective expression. After a short time he remarked with a little laugh "Now, I got it."
He liked clever sayings. "Maybe in one world something has a meaning but not in another one. Then you don't know it, even through it is there."

This could apply to happenings too. Sometimes there are events which seem to happen for no reason but one day you will realize that the opposite was the case. Maybe this could apply to live itself in general?

The sudden unknown sounds made him stop and look around to make out the source of the sounds. What's going on? he asked himself, worrying that something awful is about to happen, after all this city is on the brink of war, so it was possible.

From afar he could make out a strange object that was heading into their direction. He was speechless and unable to move.
Then he heard Daylight's voice and looked unbelieving at the strange object that was sitting on Daylight's hand.

"What is that?" he murmured more to himself, than to Daylight. It was obvious that it could understand their language and react to it. What was more important, was that it had a name. And what had a name was a living individual, at least in his understanding.

"Hello Meddy" he greeted her, still looking curiously at her. He didn't dare to ask if she was some kind of pet, mostly because he wanted to avoid to make a blunder again. This would have been too much in this short time, even for him.

Noticing the reaction, both Meddy and Daylight peer down in concern at Tyrion. Meddy lets out an inquisitive boop? his way while Day tilts his helm, frowning in worry.

"Are you okay...?" Daylight's winglets hitch up in concern, nervously wiggling as he tries to inspect Tyrion for any signs of immediate health concerns. Like fainting. Please don't faint. Daylight doesn't think he can handle someone fainting on him.

"Sorry!" Realising what maybe causing this reaction, Daylight pulls back and gestures for Meddy to hide in his palm. Though reluctant, Meddy follows along and it allows Daylight some measure of 'privacy' between him and Tyrion now. "Is this, like, too much for you or something? I forget that not everyone knows drones and stuff."

[From away he heard Daylight's voice. Barley noticeable he shook his head, to make clear that he was okay health wise. But it was not before Daylight continued talking to him that he got back his ability to speak. Slowly he tried to put this thought into words.]

"D ... Drones?" [This word somehow sounded strangely close to Dorne and at first he wanted to ask why Meddy was something he knew only as part of Westeros.]

"I guess many more surprises will happen while we're traveling around." [He added a little laugh at the end of his statement. He was certain that Daylight would be surprised from some things in his world too, if he should ever get the chance to see it.]

Yeah. Little robot buddies. The ones who help you out in stuff when you're a total dummy in it. [ explain: meddy being an expert in first aid because daylight, for the life of him, cannot figure out how to bind a weld to a frame even if his life depended on it. and his life has depended on it in the past quite a number of times too.

he snaps out of his train of thought to peer down at tyrion again, the expression of concern and worry back on his face. ]
You don't have little fellas like Meddy, huh?

[ beep beep beep, goes meddy, their tone surprisingly soft. ]

Er... Sorry. I promise to slow it down and hey- [ he smiles, trying to following along with tyrion to keep the conversation rolling. ] -yeah! We've got lots of places and worlds to still explore so, um, consider this a brush of what's to come?

[ something like that. ]

[Tyrion shook his head. It would be neat if there would be little helpers like Meddy in his world. There were a few thing he wasn't good at and where he could have needed a helping hand with in the past. Like, comforting people.]

"Sadly not. They are like partners and not like servants am I right?"

[For most of this life Tyrion had been surrounded from servants and for a long time he had though to this as normal. But wasn't it better to help someone because you want to and not because you're forced to? Especially since he'd come to Essos he had realized how wrong it was to force people to do something.]

"I wonder what strange places we will visit. In my world I've read about fantastic places that could be there. As long as we will always be equipped with everything we need to survive I am ready for every world. Even through I have to confess I am not fond of too much water."

[A shiver ran down his spine when the memories of the shipping to Essos lit up. How can you not develop a reluctant against water, when you've nearly drowned?]
