fighting ring.
( despite being a pretty fighty person at heart, korra is using the ring for ... ulterior motives. light footed and cheerful, in her hand is a glowing orb of pure energy - it's a perfect sphere, and an ideal throwing ball size, korra tossing it back and forth between her hands while she hops, foot to foot, never too stationary. once she's pleased with the wind flow and her own capabilities, korra rears her arm back and hurls the ball forward and off the raised platform, shooting off somewhere near a group of trees. )
Go get it, girl!
( and, predictably, korra's dog takes off after it. less predictably, her dog is technically a polar bear dog, and reaches the orb with a few giant jumps of her large paws. in her mouth the orb crackles and then bursts, a tiny explosion of stardust and decorates the air in confetti. naga, pleased by this, rolls onto her back and burbles at the pretty sight.
if naga catches sight of you, she'll take off running for the tackle. she's not dangerous, but it won't be ... exceedingly obvious, provided that she looks like a bear. if you approach korra, however, she'll offer a smile and a wave, gesturing to naga. )
Wanna give her a treat? She's really good with strangers.
bathhouse.
( there's something extremely comforting, and yet entirely lonely about large bodies of water, now - since she can't bend it, it feels a little bittersweet. but. she was still born and raised in the water, and feels a familiarity in it now. that and. you know. a girl's gotta bathe sometime.
she goes in when she thinks it's empty, but of course it's not. once she sees another soul in the bath, she hops back, a little embarrassed, cheeks reddening. )
Sorry, I ... thought it was empty! Haha. ( rubbing the back of her neck, nervously. ) Mind if I join you?
anything else!
( feel free to hmu upfingerstripes if you'd like me to write you a starter! i'm open to everything. )

she's very pretty. this is not an uncommon trait with the people korra usually opts to hang out with, but she's also never seen an alien space princess in person before, so. there's a moment, just one, where she's gawking. a little blatantly. subtly is not a word that becomes korra, but at least she manages to get her kind of slack-jawed look under control swiftly, between one breath and the next. instead, her cheeks just get a little pink, rubbing the back of her head a little shyly. )
Ha ... thanks!
( she really wishes she had her waterbending to show off and be cool in front of her, but. alas.
she just strips and sinks into the water as fast as humanly possible, keeping a considerate space between them. a little awkwardly, )
I like your, um ... ( a gesture to the spots under her eyes ... how do you compliment girls. where's the flirting master to teach korra how to do it. )

but...Allura thinks little of it.]
Of course! The baths are for all of us, after all... [Her voice trails off a bit, and as Korra strips down Allura politely averts her gaze, moving back to sitting a bit more proper in the pool, shoulders shrugging upwards as she rests her hands on her lap.
She's quiet, uncertain if this girl was also seeking a quiet soak, but then turns her attention back at the...compliment? It takes her a moment, one hand coming up to touch her cheek and...oh!]
Thank you! They're typical of my people. [...er. she squints back, looking Korra over to perhaps offer a compliment of her own.
...hm....................]
I've not seen you with the Circle before. Are you a new arrival?

korra feels a little bit put at ease, with all this. she doesn't always have the best judge of character, as she's come to realize in the past few years, but she doesn't think she's wrong about allura. she offers her a cheerful smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. )
I am new, you're right. I came here with two of my friends just a couple days ago. ( a hand reaches up to touch the center of her chest - a gesture, because it's. weird. to shake someone's hand when you're both naked, right. ) I'm Korra.

Nakedness aside.]
That is good to hear. While our circumstances of being brought here are--unusual, I do find having friends from home makes adjusting a bit easier. [Even with the ease she feels, it's only natural for her to defer to her more diplomatic tendencies. She nods her head in turn, introductions in a bath doomed to be awkward no matter what.]
It is good to meet you, Korra. I am Princess Allura.

( and following that logic makes korra a princess too, but. nah, not really. despite korra's natural inclination towards praise and fame and the spotlight, she's settled into her more humble station of life, choosing not one of luxury, but of safety and simplicity. she really doesn't have the same royal presence as allura and desna anyway, befitting someone cultivated to rule from a young age. korra's happy enough to be the avatar, she doesn't have to be princess avatar on top of that.
she's easily enamored by allura, anyway. hanging onto her words like they're the most interesting thing she's heard since she's been here. she talks of friends like she has some here, so korra lifts her two pointer fingers to tuck under the corners of her eyes, imitating the altean marks. )
There are others like you here, then?
no subject
So they rule by joint leadership? [She's an only child, so the idea of sibling leaders is intriguing. But, since Korra has mentioned her chieftain cousins..] And what of you?
[Not that she intends to pry. Much.
But at Korra's own question, and the gesture to her markings, Allura's shoulders hunch forward a bit before she settles back, a small, thoughtful (and almost sad) look in her eye. It's...a question she doesn't really know how to answer.
In the past, it was hard enough to say that she was one of the only of her kind left. But now with Lotor, and what she's found out--
It's Complicated.]
My friends here are humans, much like you. [it's said fondly, and she brings one hand up to tap at the point of her ear.] I mean, I assume that's what you are.
no subject
( and kind of ... creepy. there's a languid shrug, bronzed shoulders raising out of the water with little care, or thought otherwise. what of you? )
I'm the Avatar.
( and the daughter of the chief in the south. she knows the word probably doesn't hold that much meaning in worlds other than her own, but she isn't about to dump tens of thousands of years of her world's history on allura's shoulders without being prompted first. and anyway. it's not like she's really avatar material here, with all her elemental powers blocked like chakras overflowing with chi. at least she's learned, in someways, to live apart from her title, in the time she spent discovering herself.
more stuff to not drop on a new friend's shoulders! )
Here, I'm mostly just Korra, though, Princess. You got it right with human. ( she does take note of allura's ears, which are ... pretty cute, if she's being honest. ) What are you, then? If ... it's not invasive to ask.
no subject
[A pause.]
Er, what...is an Avatar, exactly?
[A title, obviously, and it sounds important, but otherwise its significance is lost to Allura. And, as someone who's usually in the role of espousing exposition, she's not exactly one to mind an explanation. Especially since her role finds her in a position where she gets to know all sorts of cultures, even before being brought here.]
It is certainly not invasive to ask! I am Altean, from a planet called Altea.
no subject
( it's kind of grand talk, especially for someone as. apparently goofy as korra. she raises her hand, somewhat sheepishly. )
You're looking at her.
( but. planets, what. korra's eyes go a little wider, disbelieving but also - awed. it explains the otherworldly beauty, at least. )
Sorry — did you say you're from another planet?
no subject
I had a feeling.
[And she listens, intently, following along to the best of her ability. Allura's certainly learned of alien races far stranger, and while she doesn't necessarily understand what bending is, exactly, the idea of elemental abilities is..
Well, it's what the Lions of Voltron embody, in a way. And a bridge between the physical and spiritual world has her thinking back to Oriande.]
That certainly sounds like a big responsibility. [One, in a way, she can relate to. At least in terms of acting like a bridge between two worlds. Having to shoulder something so important while...well...
Being herself. She draws her knees up.]
And...well, yes. Though everyone here is technically from another planet along with being from another universe.
[and nevermind the fact that Altea no longer exists....at least, in her universe.]
Does space travel not exist where you're from?
