( the sickness: phase two )
![]() ![]() the sickness ends. the temple. The Temple, shortly after Astoria's burst of energy, is in a constant state of growth. Trees are bursting into existence from seeds in mere seconds, flowers are growing wherever magic lands . . . and the Temple is abruptly a-buzz with energy, magic crackling throughout the air. You may find a tree in your house, or flowers suddenly growing along the walls, or plants wiggling their way through the stone walls of the buildings of the Temple. All of a sudden, the place looks very overgrown. ![]() lake dona. Lake Dona is a massive body of water, stretching outward for so far that it almost seems like an ocean until you see that the water is fresh. It is surrounded by long, leafy trees that dip into the water and has a variety of ancient ruins scattered around it -- weathered stones set into circles at seemingly even intervals, old buildings that seem to mirror the Temple in construct. |

Really? Yeah, they're really valuable! For one this big you could make so much money!
[She pulls the peach up to her face to sniff it. Mmm, peachy.]
I've only ever really seen them in the market!
no subject
Anyway. She listens to this, curious. She had seen old currency from humans before, and knew about "shopping centers," and before that "markets," but what Konoha is describing is actually the experience of going to one.]
...Well, you can have that one. I don't need to eat.
no subject
As is, Konoha seems... absolutely thrilled at the possibility of eating any peach, let alone a giant one like this. Her eyes light up, she prances a bit in place, still holding the fruit up near her face so she can smell it, and also... because she is literally two seconds from biting it.]
Really? You don't mind at all?
no subject
She nods.] Yeah. I've never had one. You look like you'll enjoy it more.
no subject
[She should probably wait and get a plate or something, the thing is giant, but it looks so good and peaches are so expensive she's never had one before, and it smells so good... that she just takes a giant bite.
And juice immediately starts dribbling down her hands, oops, but-]
It tastes even better than I thought it would?!
[Is what she says if you speak "mouthfull-ese".]
no subject
Is it really that good?
no subject
[Still spoken with her mouth full.
Konoha looks like she's in a brief moment of paradise, eyes fairly sparkling over how juicy and sweet the fruit is, until... oh, oh, wait a minute-]
Oh, sorry- Is it... rude to eat in front of you?
[The metal people can't, right, so? Did they get jealous of people who could, or?]
no subject
[What is she talking about...it takes A2 a moment.]
I gave it to you. I can eat. I just don't.
no subject
[She suddenly remembers... hadn't the woman called A4 said something about eating? (And not defecating?)]
You can taste it, right?
[Looking down at the large peach, Konoha holds it out towards A2.]
How about just a small bite? It's really good!
no subject
The thought is there, to refuse. Eating had always seemed unnecessary to her, something androids did to pretend to be something they weren't.
But.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if she tried it, she supposes. She takes the peach, and tentatively nibbles at it.
...
Her eyes widen a fraction.
It's...]
It's good.
no subject
She feels really happy for some reason?]
Right?!
[Konoha trots in tight circles around A2, more than visibly excited as she serenades the taste of peach.]
It's even more juicy and sweet than I imagined! At that size, we probably ate the most expensive fruit in the world just now! And the stickiness is messy but it's so tasty?
no subject
She still doesn't smile.
But her eyes soften a fraction.] Right.
[Perhaps to appease her (but also, it is actually a good peach), A2 takes another bite.
...]
Are they expensive because they're good?
no subject
And because they're so rare and hard to grow!
[She's almost salivating again just thinking about peaches, smelling peaches, seeing peaches-]
The skin is so soft and easy to bruise, so you have to raise them super, super protectively!
[Don't mind her, A2, she just leans over to take a bite of the other side of the peach while the android is holding it, taking advantage of just how giant the thing was.]
Mmmm yum!
no subject
[A fruit so delicate that it had to be raised carefully...no wonder it didn't exist on her Earth.
The thought is met with no sadness, only a weary acceptance, though she does hand the fruit back to Konoha.]
Here, then. You can have it back. You should enjoy it.
no subject
A peach this big isn't something that can only be enjoyed by one person, A2! Don't be silly.
[Expertly she cuts into the fruit, not caring at all as sweet-smelling juice spills out over her hands, carving out a piece that... is about the size of a normal peach. Pleased with herself... Konoha presents it to A2 with a flourish, grinning.]
Here! Human-sized! Now we can eat together!
[... She has two stomachs it's only fair she keeps the bigger piece, ok?!]
