( the sickness: phase two )
![]() ![]() the sickness ends. the temple. The Temple, shortly after Astoria's burst of energy, is in a constant state of growth. Trees are bursting into existence from seeds in mere seconds, flowers are growing wherever magic lands . . . and the Temple is abruptly a-buzz with energy, magic crackling throughout the air. You may find a tree in your house, or flowers suddenly growing along the walls, or plants wiggling their way through the stone walls of the buildings of the Temple. All of a sudden, the place looks very overgrown. ![]() lake dona. Lake Dona is a massive body of water, stretching outward for so far that it almost seems like an ocean until you see that the water is fresh. It is surrounded by long, leafy trees that dip into the water and has a variety of ancient ruins scattered around it -- weathered stones set into circles at seemingly even intervals, old buildings that seem to mirror the Temple in construct. |
Get Back Here
alright, it takes him a few more minutes to compose himself. but he does! eventually. ]
I'm- I'm good. [ his voice is a little squeaky from the exertion of not laughing though. ]
I just- I made regular pudding. It's on the stove. That's what all the fruit is for.
no subject
You made... tomato pudding, and regular pudding. [Slowly, his feet start to carry him in further, because - well, it's hard to think he's lying for how hard he's laughing.]
no subject
I'm sure it'll come as a shocker, but I do get that people have different tastes, and not everyone can appreciate tomatoes like I do.
[ "appreciate." right. ]
You can check for yourself if you don't believe me.
no subject
[Like he can justify the fact that he was about to run off. Nope, he's still a fool, because when he reaches the stove he is peeking into some of those pots and something smells better. Sweets, he smells sweets.]
I'm just... not a big fan of tomatoes unless it's ketchup.
no subject
[ yes, clearly that's the most important thing here. ]
And what's wrong with beans?
no subject
[Finally some goodies that aren't ... tomato pudding. Who even makes that anyway? Aside from Ludger apparently. Setting a lid aside and starting to reach into a pot, he thinks better of it and goes to get a spoon. Yes, a taste testing spoon instead of his fingers, a very novel concept.]
Beans aren't great, they're pretty tasteless to me. I think it's a texture thing, they just... taste like mush. [Basically Struxta's gray goop, that's all it tasted like to Noct.]
no subject
Maybe they were cooked too much? [ or not enough - perhaps refried beans would meet his Royal Pickiness's unhealthiness standard? ]
I'm Ludger, by the way - let me know what you think of the pudding you're trying. [ he had to get a little creative to get something close to vanilla. ]
no subject
Sweeping the spoon through the pudding and sniffing it a moment, turning away to put the spoon in his mouth to hide his immediate first impression - mm. It's sort of off from vanilla, but it's close enough and sweet enough that it's not awful, so he turns and gives Ludger a thumbs up.]
Noctis. It's fake vanilla, but in a good way - so I hope that's the flavor you were going for.
no subject
Not exactly, but that may be the best I can do for now. [ there's only so much he can do with an afternoon and a kitchen of alien ingredients.
hmm, alien ingredients... ]
Does the fruit make it taste any better? [ maybe fruit from other worlds can magically synergize their flavor with other ingredients or something. ]
no subject
It's good enough as is... [But he goes for a second spoonful, his tongue peeking out the corner of his lips because really, taste test more sweets? He can do that much. Scooping deep enough this time to get some of the fruit, popping it all in his mouth, he gives a pleased little hum. It's still mystery flavored, but he can definitely agree it's sweeter.]
Definitely.
no subject
Oh, good. [ uhhhhh, should he really bring this up now... ] And, uh. If you start feeling strange or something. Let me know?
[ because, you know. ingredients from a different world. are they really safe for human consumption? Ludger didn't check! ]
