Who: The team investigating the runes
Where: Library in the Palace
When: December 5th-???
Rating PG, might be updated later
What: Trying to decipher a king's magic, feat. unfortunate side effects.
[so, he'd sent out the request for help, and then promptly went and slept off the worst of his deprivation. it means that when everyone convenes, Merlin's bright eyed, cheery, holding a stack of parchments and looking over this collection of people before he moves to start laying out all the pages. some are filled with runes, some notes, some translations and small sketches of ideas. it's clear he's been taking this utterly seriously, but the smile on his face is warm and doesn't betray the sleepless hours.]
You've got my thanks for showing up. This is everything I have so far - if anything's not quite clear through my notes, I'll clarify. Mainly what we're trying to crack is the final destination of this magic - to see where the King would have gone after his grand escape from his cell. And to that end, I welcome any ideas, tactics, experiments that come to your mind. Go nuts, really.
[be free, magic team, be free. he's certainly going to be]
[[OOC: please feel free to make your own headers, thread amongst yourselves, have fun with the plot! official mod notes on the magic and its side effects.]]

One of the more hazardous contraband options, yes. Interesting that you point that out rather than the more mundane questions.
[It's such a breath of fresh air compared to the company she was forced to keep for so long. She likes this man already. Oh dear.]
Perhaps it was something he knew of prior to imprisonment? None of the books here seem to be related to runes.

No . . . most of them are historical texts. [ which is interesting, as he picks up a nearby book to flip through one arbitrarily, not bothering to read more than the few cursory words he vaguely recognizes from his trip to the library. ] So either he has a curiosity in where he comes from, or he was simply bored with nothing else to read. [ or both, really. ] It would be easier if we could speak with him, but he seems to be the type to strike from shadows.
[ literally, given the monster epidemic. gross. ]

Or perhaps both? [May as well say it aloud. Morrigan sighs, shaking it off well.] I know the type well.
[Don't talk to her about the monster epidemic. She spent hours working on balms to help deal with the ongoing illness cases at the palace before the call for those with arcane knowledge was given. With knowledge her mother had taught her, and as much as she is disgusted by it, well... It's part of her, now.]
