welcome to the horologium.
![]() ![]() welcome to the horologium. Some of you know it is coming. The World Jump, the chaotic thrust into a new universe. But some of you are new, and though you know what the mission is, it is a bit . . . troubling, sitting around and waiting for something to happen. But eventually, you get a message on your watch. It shows Astoria . . . dark hair framing her features, her voice light and musical. She sounds like herself, for the first time in some time . . . that spark of determination back in her eyes. A MESSAGE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD WITCH.
![]() THE AWAKENING. When you wake, you are greeted by metal — there’s an expanse of silver all around you. The cot you’re laying on is somewhat rigid, like a flattened wedge of cotton more than anything, encased in a capsule-like structure. Should you inspect your surroundings, you’ll find that there are three more cots in your room..or more notably, another person in the room in of itself. Depending on where you’ve been roused from your slumber, however, you’ll find that your circumstances differ. ![]() WHISPERS IN THE DARK. In a way, it feels as though you’re suspended in time. ![]() INVESTIGATIONS The ship is fitted to house approximately 500 people — it’s a bit of a ghost town, however, lived in but abandoned no less. Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These areas of the world are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore -- you may use as much leeway as you want in order to come up with what your character will do. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the various threads back in the OOC post from before! |

But the downside is that using his power makes him eventually drain his energy and need to rest. So after a long cooking session, he collapses into one of the booths by the window and sleeps. When he wakes up, he glances blearily out the window out of habit, only stare into the void of space.
It twists at his stomach. It makes him feel small and alone. When he looks away he sees Konoha staring too, a plate of food in her hands. Then she turns at hands it to him.
His stomach grumbles loudly. He's a teenage boy who spends a lot of the day exercising... he usually eats a lot.]
No. This is great. Thank you.
...Do you need more help today?

But then he's the tired one, and she can't help but feel responsible, even if the service they're providing to the rest of the Circle is a very necessary one. So she musters a smile for him even if she's scared of the sight just beyond the window.]
No, it's fine... You should rest a bit more... This might not be happening without you, after all.
[She waves the plate of appetizing, non-goop smells beneath his nose before offering it over.]
I need to take a break, too.

[He takes the apple and bites into it. It tastes like any apple. It really is amazing the sort of powers people have here. If her power were a Quirk it would be incredibly complicated, similar to one of his classmates, where she has to know the genetic makeup of the things she creates.
Then he glances out at the window.]
It's kind of a lot... huh. It's so empty and yet, overwhelming. It never felt that way back home.
no subject
Punching the doors... ? Don't do that...
[She'd tried kicking one, and sure, it had worked enough to get her out of the room she'd woken up in, but it also left her hooves and hocks aching.
When he looks out the window, however, she can't help but follow his gaze, unease at the sight making her fingers tighten over the tray left in her own hand.]
"Space"? ... I didn't even know it existed. How is it so big?
no subject
[He runs a hand across his knuckles. They're slightly bruised. Still, that doesn't really matter. Or at least he doesn't.]
You know the sky back home? That's where we are. Like up close to the moon.
But... it's so big that we probably aren't even near Japan.
no subject
But he mentions their location, and she can't help but look to the window, anxiety spiking just a bit, clear on her features at the sight.]
I don't think... We're anywhere near there anymore, no. This place is like... even bigger than the ocean. And I heard that went on forever.
[She's never really seen it in person for herself, but.]
no subject
But we haven't been to space at all. Some people say if we focused our technology, we could but we haven't yet.
[He glances out again and then back at her.]
Some people think space actually does go forever.
no subject
[And frankly, they sound kind of terrifying. Trains were a scary enough experience for her in Struxta, and that was underground. ... And now this was. Like a plane in space.
Eight million myriad of gods, what has she gotten herself into... She wonders for the right millionth time.]
But- It doesn't really.
[Right? Right?]
no subject
[He frowns and tilts his head.]
And... I dunno. No one's ever been out there so how can we really know? Even if it seems impossible... sometimes impossible things do happen.
no subject
[Woah, this was making her brain hurt. Konoha's brow furrows in deep, philosophical pondering, arms crossing a bit tighter.]
Like... forests sometimes don't have an end but they do turn into plains eventually... or a mountain... or a field...
