welcome to the horologium.
![]() ![]() welcome to the horologium. Some of you know it is coming. The World Jump, the chaotic thrust into a new universe. But some of you are new, and though you know what the mission is, it is a bit . . . troubling, sitting around and waiting for something to happen. But eventually, you get a message on your watch. It shows Astoria . . . dark hair framing her features, her voice light and musical. She sounds like herself, for the first time in some time . . . that spark of determination back in her eyes. A MESSAGE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD WITCH.
![]() THE AWAKENING. When you wake, you are greeted by metal — there’s an expanse of silver all around you. The cot you’re laying on is somewhat rigid, like a flattened wedge of cotton more than anything, encased in a capsule-like structure. Should you inspect your surroundings, you’ll find that there are three more cots in your room..or more notably, another person in the room in of itself. Depending on where you’ve been roused from your slumber, however, you’ll find that your circumstances differ. ![]() WHISPERS IN THE DARK. In a way, it feels as though you’re suspended in time. ![]() INVESTIGATIONS The ship is fitted to house approximately 500 people — it’s a bit of a ghost town, however, lived in but abandoned no less. Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These areas of the world are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore -- you may use as much leeway as you want in order to come up with what your character will do. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the various threads back in the OOC post from before! |

When Cayde reaches the kitchens she's still in the middle of cooking lunch, a smudge of something across her cheek, a bowl half-mixed on her hip, and a boiling pot she's minding on the fancy stove thing... But she still spares a hand to wave him in.]
Cayde- ! Hey, it's over here!
[Well, there's actually more than one, but... As if thinking she's actually found something important, not realizing that appliances... tended to have such things affixed to them...
Konoha points proudly to the instructions and safety warnings on the side of the microwave.]

That's a good one! We gotta figure out what it means, don't you think? Could be some real important stuff there.

[She can't tell at all if it's truly a good one or not, but it was on the science box that made food hot in like a single minute, so. She taps the box with her free hand, proud of her small discovery.]
This micro waved box is amazing, so I thought maybe there would be some important notes on it or something.

[It’s been really easy to forget that not everyone comes from places where things like microwaves are standard, so Konoha’s enthusiasm is wonderfully refreshing. Were it anyone else he might have spared a sarcastic quip, but Konoha? Absolutely not. She’s proud of her discovery, and in all honesty it does have the potential to be helpful if he can glean some of the letters from it.]
Have you tried it out? Looks pretty handy to me.
[He pulls a pilfered notebook out of one of his pockets as he settles in to try and copy down the alien writing.]
And if I’m in your way, just shove me okay? You’re the one doin’ the important stuff around here.

[She pats the box again as if to congratulate it for its hard work, completely sincere in her admiration for its abilities.]
Not having to make a fire is pretty convenient... Do you have these in your world?
[She doesn't even say anything about him being in the way, because surely he won't be! Bustling about, she leans over to check on her boiling pot before resuming her stirring.]
Sorry I haven't done the noodles yet- Feeding all these people is a bit harder than I thought, but I don't want us to have to eat goop just yet... How are we supposed to keep our spirits up on that?

[He's never stopped to think about how miraculous having things like microwaves really are. After some time in the Circle? Any tech is a godsend that he's more than happy to see.
It takes a little bit for him to copy everything down, a bit of the writing is smudged from age and use, but it's a good find and it's actually pretty helpful.]
Hey, no apologies, okay? You're the MVP here, you're the one that's doing the hard work and making sure everyone is okay. If anything, we should all be apologizin' to you for making you work this hard. Seriously.

I'm going to have to kick you if you keep saying nice stuff like that all the time.
[She would never, but! Still!]
Unless we end up in a forest with trees that need cutting there's not anything else I'm better at. And you're good at the high tech stuff.
[Like microwaves!!!]
Do you know what it says?
