( NPC LOG ) WORLD JUMP # 4: THE HOROLOGIUM.

V I O L E T
within a few days, every circle member will find that the small square panels hovering over their cots have been activated. they flicker green for a moment, and an interface gradually manifests before you. it looks a little like a computer terminal at first...
before the words slowly begin to form.
during your time on the horologium, this screen will change accordingly. your repairs and modifications to the ship will be logged for all to see. and by who, exactly?
well....
🠖 NETWORK
[ all of your watches come to a static halt. there's a crackle before a message begins to appear on the screen. ]

🠖 MESS HALL
[ violet is seated at a table — her hands are folded but her eyes are flitting from side to side as though she's taking in her surroundings. there's a notable scar that slashes across her face, and she's fitted in a jumpsuit much like your own. ]
Oh, hey. It's your favorite stranger: Violet.
[ there's a silence. ]
...I'm guessing you guys have got questions.
There's a 10 comment quota on each NPC thread, but you are welcome to ping this post for another if you find it necessary!

I used to wish it was. [ it's said with something of a grimace. ] But y'could say things have changed.
[ violet blows a strand of hair out of her face. ]
The captain's gone.
...From what I can tell, most everyone is. But it wasn't like her to abandon her own ship. She would have come back for it at some point or another. Had too much pride not to.

[ sort of. percy knows nothing about space-faring vessels, but he has an appreciation for something so sprawling and complex. even if it drives him mad trying to explore it. violet seems to have some appreciation for it judging by the earlier remark. ]
How long have you been stranded out here...? Do you happen to know?

[ you know...the Reckoning. wearily, she leans back into her seat, shoulders slumped. ]
The distress call went off but this ship hasn't been functioning for...who knows how long. I want to say a 3 months at least, and 2 years at most. I have a talent for guesstimating.
[ and then there's a wry laugh. ]
Didn't do me much good when it counted, though. [ pathetically does she grimace. ]
What's your name, if you don't mind my asking?

We've found a closet full of supplies that could be of use to aid in repair. Adhesives, fillers, materials that look as though they belong to the ship itself.

[ she says that with the slightest of smirks. ]
That sounds like one of our stores. You guys try to tinker with the ship at all? I could lend a hand. I know the ins and outs of this girl — it helps that this was one of my many fields of expertise, too.

Are you an engineer, then?
