World Jump #2: Struxta
![]() ![]() welcome to the collected nations of struxta. It will happen at random- you could be asleep, or wandering the Temple, or a variety of other options. It will feel a little strange, like a sudden warmth spreading across your skin, and then your bracelet will light up. When you blink again, everything has shifted - changed, developed, like in that blink of an eye you have advanced thousands of years into the future. Around you is a city, a technological marvel. Buildings rise up from the dirt and through the clouds, figures of all shapes and sizes buzz around you. They seem to pay you little mind - a quick glance, maybe a pause, and then they will continue on their away. Ahead, there is a low rumble of thunder, a dim flash of light. It doesn't seem to be raining, but there is an electric hum in the air. A NOTE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD WITCH
![]() Just as it was in El Minha, it appears that upon arrival, each character is outfitted with a room at one of the largest, arguably most impressive skyscrapers in the city. Nearly two hundred stories tall, and with each floor containing nearly sixty rooms. Every floor, every room, every door is of the highest tech and the more advanced security. The watches that Astoria has given each of the Circle Members act, in many ways, like a key, a credit card, an ID, and any other form of identification the players will need during their stay. ![]() Have you ever wanted to go shopping in the most technologically advanced superstore possible? Here is your chance! It appears that if you use your watch, you have been given a moderate amount of credit to buy clothing, toys, electronics, items, and anything else that might suit your fancy. You will not have enough to buy anything significant, such as limbs, organs, advanced computer technology, etc. But you are more than welcome to find a job to help collected more credits! Many of the stores within the Supercenter are hiring - greeters, cashiers, manual labor, errand runners, and everything in between! ![]() THE RACES In the south-eastern district of the city, a large section of the city has been modified into a multi-level, vast, complicated race track of sorts. Think Tron, meets Speed Racer, meets a type of racing that is something all their own. It's fun as hell, fast as hell, and dangerous as hell. Sounds great, right? ![]() As many have already come to hear, there are plenty of libraries and museums all across Struxta. However, there is one that is known as The Library, which archives anything and everything in the history of all of Struxta, spanning back its entire history, over thousands and thousands of years. The building itself is as large and impressive as The Hostel, nearly two hundred stories tall, possibly more, and as wide and long as a city block. But where in the Hostel each floor had been made up of rooms, each of these floors are large, open areas, with dark, imposing servers held behind tight, clean cabinets. Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the mod questions thread back in the OOC post from before! And if you have any ideas regarding how your character will interact with the world, also feel free to check back into the world interactions comment from the OOC post from before, as well! From this point forward, the Circle has become involved with the Collected Nations of Struxta. What your character finds out, decides, and does from here on out will affect the future of this city- one way or another! But what you do is completely up to you. What you discover, explore, and uncover will be yours to discover, explore, and uncover. Who knows what you might find? :) |

[Automatically, she apologizes again, trying to go whichever way the woman in front of her isn't... but it quickly becomes apparent that rather than misreading her movements... she's sort of... blocking the way.
Confused now, on top of embarrassed, Konoha's hooves skitter on the slick, hard floor, glancing to see if she couldn't go around a table. Though first glance makes it seem like she should have no trouble pushing past Mordred if she wanted to, with nearly two feet of height on her and a draft breed's frame... she doesn't try anything of the sort. She just wants to get out of sight before anymore tears fall, but, is anyone dead?]
What? No!
[Too late.]
no subject
[ Stop making her feel sympathy for you!! It won't work! (It might be working...) ]
Are you okay?
[ ??? ]
no subject
[Despite her size, her apparent strength... Konoha flinches away from being confronted with the... very obvious truth that she's started crying, reaching up to try and brush them off her cheeks with the heels of her hands, but they just keep falling, and what if everyone can see, and this other woman is angry but also nice enough to ask if she's fine, and-]
I need to go home, I can't be here anymore! There's no grass, and everything's hard and shining and-
[Hiccup.]
no subject
[ God damn it! She may be a knight, but chivalry is still so foreign to her. More foreign than talking to a centaur apparently! Mordred knows what she's supposed to do, but isn't sure why? What's the point of crying like this? Or making someone stop for that matter? It's annoying, annoying, annoying-- ]
--hey!
[ Momentarily, she abandons her companion to quickly grab a napkin from a nearby table, and then offers it up by... lightly punching her in the arm. Take it!! ]
Pull yourself together. You think someone's just gonna take you home if you cry hard enough? Do it yourself!
[ This is a pep talk, believe it or not. ]
no subject
Konoha doesn't flinch, because she hadn't even anticipated a punch at all, and there's a solid mass of bicep there under her sleeve so the punch doesn't... hurt or anything, but-
She takes the napkin, confused as to whether she's being chastised or comforted, hurriedly trying to use it as a more effective wipe than her hands.]
What else are we supposed to do?
[She knows she shouldn't be crying, she does, but-]
I don't know how to find the way, and all I can do is work, but this place is just metals and shiny people shapes and what use is a jinba in a place like this. I don't even understand why we're here in the first place-
no subject
[ She's still... pep-talking..... i promise ]
Anyway, what's this big deal about grass? ...Do you need it to eat?
no subject
[Wait, when did this become her needing to defend humans? Konoha shakes her head, wiping her face again.]
No? It just-
[She feels like such a crybaby, attempting one more time to try and get around Mordred without pushing.]
This other stuff hurts my feet-
[The hardest thing she's ever had to walk on for any extended period time is... dirt, and she's yet to acclimate to the metal surfaces.]
no subject
[ She's starting to see the picture now. Of course, Mordred knows about horses, and this world is no place for horse feet. All this crying makes sense now, but-- still, she wants to help her stop it somehow. Out of the goodness of her heart? The jury's still out on that.
Mordred shows her wristwatch, the one they all use to communicate with each other from afar. ]
We all got some magic powers that we never asked for, right? [ Is that some bitterness in her voice? Ignore that. ] You should use this to find out if someone can make grass.
no subject
[She stops trying to get around Mordred in favor of looking at the watch, chagrined. Because... she doesn't know how to use it. She'd tried, but- She hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. And even if she did... all this stuff about magic... surely magic was happening to them, but she certainly shouldn't have been able to do any herself, and-]
But... can you do magic now? I can't. And if I could, it wouldnt be something like... growing grass, right? Shouldn't it be something useful, like... protecting people, or blessing them, or seeing the future, or- or at least doing something about this awful food-
[That doesn't explain, then, why as she's waving her hands... one of them is suddenly holding a sheaf of barley.]
sorry this is late!
[ Mordred looks halfway between shocked and delightfully surprised like a child who just saw a card trick. That was kind of cool?? But lame at the same time.
She really wanted it to be a card trick.]That was it, wasn't it? Your magic! You can make... [ she takes the item in question for herself to inspect ] ...food?
np! 1/2
Surprised at Mordred's surprise more than anything else, Konoha straightens up, shaking her head.]
I don't have any magic, that's ridic-
no subject
Nope.
Nope.
She has to be imagining things.]
- culous...
no subject
Don't be a dumbass, you know we all got magic when we were summoned here, and this makes it yours! Geez, what's with the lack of pride? Go on, try something else! Think of a tasty steak and make it appear!
no subject
I'm not magical-
[Nope, nope, definitely not-]
I can't be, it's impossible! That kind of thing is just children's stories!
[She's also definitely not thinking about meat now that Mordred has mentioned it, and there's definitely not a hank of deer meat in her hand next time she waves it in denial.
... Deer meat that goes flying up into the air when she shrieks and scrambles backwards t get away from... herself???]
no subject
You know what, she's gonna keep this horse-girl, too. ]
Yes, good! Look what you did here!
[ She holds up the deer meat. ]
But you don't eat this stuff, right? Go on, make yourself something, too, like an apple! We'll feast like KINGS!
no subject
Konoha scrambles backwards a table or two, waving her hands in rejection of... what kept showing up in her hands. Which was definitely impossible, she had to be... sick. Maybe the awful food in this place made her hallucinate, and- wait-]
Of course I eat that-
[Did she look like she didn't eat that? Wait, she was getting distracted-]
I mean- No, I didn't make it, either! I can't make anything, this is crazy, um-
[Backing up a few tables means... she's got a clearer path of escape, though, and it's a chance Konoha isn't about to pass up on, scrambling to get around before Mordred blocks her path again.]
It was nice to meet you!!!
[... manners were still important though. Even when you are... definitely making a run for it.]
