World Jump #2: Struxta
![]() ![]() welcome to the collected nations of struxta. It will happen at random- you could be asleep, or wandering the Temple, or a variety of other options. It will feel a little strange, like a sudden warmth spreading across your skin, and then your bracelet will light up. When you blink again, everything has shifted - changed, developed, like in that blink of an eye you have advanced thousands of years into the future. Around you is a city, a technological marvel. Buildings rise up from the dirt and through the clouds, figures of all shapes and sizes buzz around you. They seem to pay you little mind - a quick glance, maybe a pause, and then they will continue on their away. Ahead, there is a low rumble of thunder, a dim flash of light. It doesn't seem to be raining, but there is an electric hum in the air. A NOTE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD WITCH
![]() Just as it was in El Minha, it appears that upon arrival, each character is outfitted with a room at one of the largest, arguably most impressive skyscrapers in the city. Nearly two hundred stories tall, and with each floor containing nearly sixty rooms. Every floor, every room, every door is of the highest tech and the more advanced security. The watches that Astoria has given each of the Circle Members act, in many ways, like a key, a credit card, an ID, and any other form of identification the players will need during their stay. ![]() Have you ever wanted to go shopping in the most technologically advanced superstore possible? Here is your chance! It appears that if you use your watch, you have been given a moderate amount of credit to buy clothing, toys, electronics, items, and anything else that might suit your fancy. You will not have enough to buy anything significant, such as limbs, organs, advanced computer technology, etc. But you are more than welcome to find a job to help collected more credits! Many of the stores within the Supercenter are hiring - greeters, cashiers, manual labor, errand runners, and everything in between! ![]() THE RACES In the south-eastern district of the city, a large section of the city has been modified into a multi-level, vast, complicated race track of sorts. Think Tron, meets Speed Racer, meets a type of racing that is something all their own. It's fun as hell, fast as hell, and dangerous as hell. Sounds great, right? ![]() As many have already come to hear, there are plenty of libraries and museums all across Struxta. However, there is one that is known as The Library, which archives anything and everything in the history of all of Struxta, spanning back its entire history, over thousands and thousands of years. The building itself is as large and impressive as The Hostel, nearly two hundred stories tall, possibly more, and as wide and long as a city block. But where in the Hostel each floor had been made up of rooms, each of these floors are large, open areas, with dark, imposing servers held behind tight, clean cabinets. Additionally, please feel free to write up and work with your own prompts! These are presented as jumping off points for your characters, not limitations. The idea of this world- as with all the others- is to explore. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them back on the mod questions thread back in the OOC post from before! And if you have any ideas regarding how your character will interact with the world, also feel free to check back into the world interactions comment from the OOC post from before, as well! From this point forward, the Circle has become involved with the Collected Nations of Struxta. What your character finds out, decides, and does from here on out will affect the future of this city- one way or another! But what you do is completely up to you. What you discover, explore, and uncover will be yours to discover, explore, and uncover. Who knows what you might find? :) |
A
Grimacing, he slides his eyes to Ignis.]
Yeah, I'm not touching that. [Now that Iggy is here, the idea of getting spoiled on food sort of hangs in the fringe of his mind - but having nothing to actually cook with is going to be a new problem.]
no subject
However, Ignis absolutely has no problems with Noctis rejecting this food goo. He hasn't the slightest idea what's in it or what its nutritional value is. It was made by a population who do not need to cook or eat, so how can he trust them to not accidentally poison his liege? This is too risky.
And so, Ignis Scientia has to spend a few seconds, sitting here in a hostel, lamenting the fact that there isn't a Crow's Nest anywhere around.]
And you shouldn't. Have you seen any food around?
[A restaurant? A grocer? Even a gas station mart would be a marked improvement.]
no subject
Besides the what I think were crackers in my pocket when we left the Temple? Nope.
[Which he already ate, of course, but now he is sort of wishing he actually packed food. That is absolutely going to have to be a thing, the next time they get back to the Temple; Astoria needs to give them enough food to last. Maybe something sort of familiar at this point? Looking at the food goo again and reaching to pick up the plate, Noct wiggles it with full expectations that the goo moves.
It does. Just like jello.
Ngh.]
no subject
Why does it undulate like that!? Ignis just barely manages to avoid shuddering at the sight. At least gelatin is pleasing to look at, with its bright colors and the fruits and candies that often get put into it. But this is just unappealing.]
I was hoping you wouldn't say that.
[Not that he was expecting another result.]
How long do you suppose we'll be here?
[In this shiny, foodless world?]
no subject
Nope. No matter how many times he will likely end up here, just hungry and wandering, he will not eat it.]
I want to guess three weeks, we were in El Minha for about that long before. Or almost a month, really, but. [Making a mild so-so motion with his hand, Noct crosses his arms, trying to prevent himself from fidgeting. He can ignore being hungry, there has to be literally anything else.]
no subject
Then we'll have to come up with a solution.
[Surely there must be something they can find here, even if it's just whatever they decided to mash into this goop in the first place. He can do something with it. Anything is better than this.]
This...food... [He looks extremely pained to call it food.] ...must have been made from something. Perhaps we can ask the kitchens what's in it.
no subject
[Nope, he is going to actually starve, and it isn't even his own fault for being picky. Or at least, maybe it is, with the way Noctis turns his back on the plate of goop like the sight of it is making his condition worse - and then his stomach growls, loudly, a straight up indicator of how much he hasn't been even trying to eat it.]
Ugh... why does it have to look like this...
no subject
Then you don't suppose they'll mind if I take a look around in there, do you?
[Normally, Ignis isn't one to invade kitchens without permission, but this is a dire situation. Noct needs something to eat, whether the prince agrees with that assessment or not.]
no subject
[He agrees, but he also has no idea where they are supposed to start if there's nothing here in the kitchens. Glancing towards the door that supposedly leads to the back through, Noct gives Iggy a little grin. It's time to cook - or at least find out whats in the goop.]
What are they going to do, nicely tell us to stop wandering where we don't belong? [Like we don't sneak onto Imperial bases all the time.]
no subject
[As peaceful as this place seems, surely they have law enforcement of some kind, don't they? Ignis is just too new at this "world visiting thing" to want to push his luck too much.]
Come along, Noct. Let's find out what's behind those doors.
[But he's still going to push it a little.]
no subject
to the kneein the shoulder for "getting into trouble" protecting a kid.]If it's just more goop, I might actually cry.
[Noct puts his weight into his push, his hunger making him a bit more impatient - and while the door gives way fairly easily, Noct doesn't think twice about stepping through it and walking his way into the back towards the "kitchen". There's a lot of machinery more than anything else though.]
no subject
I don't see anyone around, so let's search for some food.
no subject
[Noctis is already on the searching case, even as he complains and opens panels and looks through drawers. He's hungry, he's hunting, he's going to definitely steal these cup noodles at least once because this goop is the literal worst he's ever been offered in his lifetime. Rifling around without caring about how much noise he makes, Noctis eventually opens what might have been a fridge and reaches in -
ah, ice tray. Great. Ice, very filling.]
A relic from the past, they should put this in a museum.
no subject
I did not know that. I'm glad Astoria has blessed him with such a fine gift.
[At the ice comment, Ignis has to keep himself from laughing. Noct can actually be rather funny when he wants to be. Opening some...well, he thinks they're cabinets, Ignis sees plates and bowls of various sizes.]
I imagine they haven't needed to use these for a while.
[But the fact that they are there is somewhat encouraging.]
no subject
Looking over to see what Ignis found, it is a surprise to see bowls and plates at all.]
Maybe they use them for carrying bolts now. [A joke, even as he shuts one door and opens another and climbs partially in once again, digging deep into the cool air.]
