Library Mingle Log
Who: Everyone!
Where: The Library
When: Throughout their time in Struxta
Rating: PG, will edit if this changes
What: The Circle gets together for some research on what this place is all about. Please treat this like a mingle log--feel free to put up a starter and tag around!
The Library (hopefully) promises to have the answers that the Welcome Committee and the general robot on the street don't. Characters can access the information by computer, and the Library has just about everything that's happened in Struxta.
That's thousands of years of information to wade through, so get to work!
[ooc: As it says above, please feel free to put up your own starter and tag around! Characters can have heard others chatting about the library or been told about it by the Welcome Committee or have just wandered in. If you come across anything of interest that you'd like me to edit into or link in the main post, please just let me know.]

They need privacy and she needs tools.]
Do you think you can carry him? I've been freelancing at a repair shop and they have what I need there. I don't think I have anything that can help him here.

meddy backs off now once they see what's going on, quietly chirring in support to their charge as daylight begins to stand up-
-and up and up until he's at his full height. more or less. sometimes you've just gotta stoop a bit when you're ten feet tall and don't wanna break anything delicate like the machinery here. he has a feeling the committee may not be happy with these turn of events as is so... yeah. no need to pile up on it. ]
Do we- [ he bites on his lower lip, winglets wiggling and twitching in restless worry. ] Do we tell the others about what happened? Give them a heads up?

[Especially since they don't know what caused the shortage in the first place. She pushes to her feet with him, trying not to be intimidated by the tall of it all, and starts to lead the way towards the streets.]
It's not far from here. Follow me.

Daylight. [ best to get introductions out of the way, right? ] Daylight vis Lornlit.
... Hi. [ if he could, he would wave a greeting to her. for now, he raises a winglet of his and wiggles it back and forth instead. ]

Zari Tomaz. Nice to meet you, though there probably could have been better circumstances.
[But that's also ... the story of Zari's life. Meeting people in unfortunate places.]

I'm kind of glad it was you I ran into for this, honestly. [ he means that. he honestly does. ] It seems like you know what you're doing. [ please compare her actions to daylight and his immediate urge to scream, like that would accomplish anything. ]

It's as she leaves that Elizabeth spots a somewhat familiar sight. Daylight, the quite large automaton with the lovely attitude in her opinion, another woman she doesn't know and a man in Daylight's hold that she certainly doesn't know either. The man looks to be unconscious though and that's enough to make Elizabeth's brows rise upward in surprise.
Her question is directed at Daylight, given she knows him, but she does tip a worried look in the other woman's direction as well. Elizabeth does still stick out like something of a sore thumb in this technological world with her old fashioned dress and spencer.]
Has something happened?
[There wasn't a fight or some such on one of the floors, was there? This place seemed far too peaceful for that.
is the thread order being zari → elizabeth → daylight okay? /o\
[ daylight's winglets arch up in surprise and relief upon seeing her approach, more than happy to see a familiar face in the midst of this mess they're all in at the moment. meddy beeps a friendly greeting upon noticing elizabeth's presence themselves, quickly zipping towards her to escort her to where the other two are.
the question elizabeth directs at him does make him falter for a second there. ] I-I don't know exactly. I just know he's hurt and we're trying to help him.
Zari- [ here, he makes an attempt of a gesture to zari's direction. which is a bit difficult given how his arms, um, preoccupied here. ] -and Meddy and I were in the Library to look for stuff. I heard this crash near me. I turn to the source and he's on the floor. Meddy says his head is overheating and we need to cool it down ASAP.
works for me!
It seems like his processors tried to handle too much data and overheated. But I'm not going to be able to confirm that until I can run a more comprehensive diagnostic.
[No offense intended to Meddy, but sometimes things get lost in translation.]
gotcha
She gives a quick, firm nod of understanding - at least the basics, that is. If the unconscious man were human, his need to be rendered into a more stable condition would be the most vital thing, so she thinks.]
If you like, I can aid in making him somewhat more stable, at least with his overheating.
[Here she gives a small smile.]
Astoria has seen fit to make me a healer of sorts and I find such abilities work just as well on objects and mechanics as they do on humans. I fear I could not heal him all at once but I can certainly help with this overheating probably and ought to be able to aid further as time passes.
please forgive me for being in a different timezone ᕕ-ᐛ-ᕗ
usually, daylight would give it to his buddy but he’s a little too busy looking hopefully at elizabeth himself. ]
Could you? Oh wow that’s amazing. [ daylight needs to squish that quick flare of envy he feels whenever he hears someone else's power. ] That could be a lot of help right now. [ he looks down, refocusing his optics to get a better idea of the guy’s current state. ] He really, really, really needs a lot of help.
[ but— he looks over to zari, not wanting to do this without getting her consultation first since, right now, she's the one with the most knowledge of how to deal with this. ] Can we...?
apologies from me as well! this week was a little crazy.
[Zari isn't really sure how this is going to work, exactly, but if Elizabeth thinks it will, then she is willing to try anything.]
Every little bit helps.
no worries!
If you do not mind then, all I should need to do is touch his head. One hand will do nicely.

[ nodding so eagerly that his helm is doing a fantastic impression of those bobble headed toys back home, day begins to kneel down and shift his weight so the guy - oh man they never even got his name. - is closer within elizabeth's reach.
but then something occurs to him, visible by how his winglets suddenly flare out in worry - watch out, zari! - as he looks at elizabeth with worry in his optics. ]
... Will you be okay? He got hurt a lot. Like a lot. You're not going to get hurt in return for healing him, right?
no subject
Yeah, let's not do that if it's something that's going to hurt you too.

[That said, her fingertips are light as she lays them against the sides of Connor's head. She rests her palms against his hair and notes to herself that he certainly feels human enough.
She's gotten used to the feel of energy seeping through her fingertips, through the skin of her palm and the heel of her hand itself. It has something of a funny tickle to it, so she thinks. She stretches muscles well put to use in El Minha, focusing on that feeling and settling that focus near the forefront of her mind.
She gives the pair, Daylight and then Zari next to her, a soft smile. Her tone is light and breezy, ever the one to inject some levity where she thinks it might be necessary.]
Why you ought to have seen how busy I was in El Minha! One individual is almost a rest in comparison.
no subject
oh wow oh wow oh wow.
it's a good thing that zari has moved far and away from daylight because- because there is no way that daylight can control the excited flaps of his winglets now, so strong and excited gusts of air is being formed with every flap. even if there's no visible sign of the healing process, she's healing connor all the same and it seems to be working?
it's definitely working, if meddy's reassuring trills and chirrs are anything to go by. it's working! (he hopes.)
there are practically stars in his optics when he looks at elizabeth now. ]
You’re the best, Elizabeth. The absolute and total best! Remind me to, like, treat you out next time.
[ but first: ] ... Do you think he's stable now, Zari? Meddy?
no subject
Yeah, that's much better. Thank you.
no subject
I will keep you to that promise in the future.
[She's teasing, honest. When Zari pronounces Connor as being stable enough, her smile brightens with her relief.]
I am glad to hear such good tidings. I could not tell you what other work he might need but I doubt I am half as capable as the two of you in sorting that much out. If he needs further help however, do not hesitate in finding me.
