the temple of beginnings.we're all a little mad here.
Needless to say, the Circle has been out of sorts as of late.
Fortunately, the weather has stabilized — residents will find that they are no longer plagued with snowstorms or heat waves. However, it appears that the flora and fauna have...come to life. Vines may wind around your feet and legs, entrapping you in a vice-like grip. They will eventually let go, but it seems like you need to speak nicely to them first. Bizarre, but it'll get the job done.
Mushrooms have also sprouted and now sing at you when you pass by — they aren’t particularly good singers either. Trees extend their branches to poke at you from behind, but when you turn around you’ll find that no one is there.
...And worst of all, the flowers seem to be especially privy to your thoughts; when you’re close, they’ll blab out whatever is on your mind at the moment and will only be silenced once they are picked. Best of luck surviving in this more, er, animated environment! Perhaps even plant-life can be reasoned with…? Or destroyed.
That’s always an option, isn’t it? oh my god they were roommates.
It isn’t a proper welcome until you’ve picked out your room! In the hallways, you may find a table or two offering cookies and tea as you survey your newfound surroundings. They seem to be left by invisible people . . . weird? The Unseen Servants seem to be playing a bit more nicely from your arrival, and seem to be apologizing for their antics with sweets! (These cookies, neverfear, are not magically cursed. They are just normal cookies.)
These rooms are a bit magical, you see — should you decide to room with another person (or multiple people), you’ll find that the room itself will accommodate your needs and expand accordingly. They look the same for the most part, so some might say that it would be wise to make your decision based on what your neighbors are like.
Say hello or potentially someone else’s room by accident; it’s a bit of a Russian roulette.
Regardless, it seems that this is your new home in sense of the word. Make the most of it! wildcard.
The Temple is a pretty big place! The Forest of the Fey stretches on endlessly, Lake Dona (and the resident Nessie) is free to explore, and there are plenty of creatures who are curiously inspecting the new arrivals.
The wyverns seem to be particularly precocious today, given the singing mushrooms, the psychic flowers, and the new people checking into new rooms! They are relatively harmless (as are most of the creatures in the Temple), but can be pretty annoying . . . especially if you have something resembling a snack in your hand.
At any rate, free to explore the rest of the Temple, the Forest, or the Lake at your leisure! Unless otherwise designated in the bestiary, everything is free to play/free to explore. :)

When the stage sets itself for you, learn to take its cues, darling! Gracelessness doesn't suit you at all... Nor does it flatter the work these vines put into making a captive of you. They did so well to bind you, too.
[The thoughts of somebody so full of himself that he'd see himself tied up if it meant he could make a show out of it... Wild. He almost wishes he could trade places, if not just to demonstrate how he could make being tied up in vines appear not only deliberate, but exciting! But he's not, and that's also fine. Miyuki's distress becomes clearer yet; he sighs and reaches out for one of the vines with an easy smile.]
But... I'll admit. Not all of us are equipped with the charisma it takes to make even the worst situations look glamorous. You look so pitiful. I can't stand to leave you hanging. Here. [Uninvited, he grabs around the vine gripping Miyuki around his upper arms and pries it away. He is met with some success thanks to his weird appreciation for their work.] Do you really think you would've been trapped here forever...?
no subject
What the... he's surprised once his arms are free, slipping them to his chest and cradling his wrist. Which doesn't help too much once he's brought down, hanging upside down by his legs. ]
Of course not forever, but-- did you really have to call me pitiful?!
[ At this point, his feelings might be hurt more than his wrists. ]
no subject
If only you could see yourself. You'd agree! You looked absolutely frantic, before learning that I could, and would, free you. These aren't all that tight, anyway. Though they had me convinced. Or...
[Suddenly, Mettaton gasps, and drops his heel with a loud thud. It's with inconvenient timing, too: he hasn't managed to untie Miyuki all the way, being that he's been possessed with some outlandish line of thought.]
Could it be? You were... acting? Pretending these vines were binding you, so that I might be come to your aid? Were you that desperate for attention?
no subject
[ Oh god, dangling like this is starting to give him a headache, and all he could see is Mettaton posturing, unsure if he's even still doing anything. It'd be great if he could swing up and reach his own legs, but while he's not lacking in athletic ability, he's not that flexible. ]
If I wanted attention, why would I pick something this absurd! I'm not acting, trust me!
[ He's not even that good at acting! ]
no subject
[He was only teasing, after all of that... Mettaton resumes working at the constricting vines around his ankles, which feel tighter if not only because of the sudden yank they endured after his partial release.]
I mean it when I say these vines did lovely work at wrapping you up. I suppose your inability to escape suggests that you don't have any powers or weapons to do so on your own...?
no subject
[ This guy was annoying as hell, and he tries to reach up for his own vines in vain. He groans, rolling his eyes. Is he really trying to compliment the vines again? ]
Right, sure. The vines did such a wonderful job stringing me up and helping the blood rush right down to my head.
[ Ha ha ha ha. Maybe the vines don't know what sarcasm is. ]
no subject
[A double-attack on the vines in a form of flattery, no matter how sarcastic, easily acts as their undoing. When Mettaton pulls next, they let go of Miyuki in an instant.
Mettaton catches him before he falls on his. ...By his ankles.]
...Well. How nice of them to drop you like that. That's what you wanted, right? [Mettaton doesn't want to hold somebody by their ankles all day, so he gently lowers Miyuki to the ground so that he can collect himself without cracking open his skull. How kind of him.]
no subject
[ oh god oh god he's going to break his neck, what the hell happened
Except, he's still caught somehow-- by Mettaton, it looks like. Miyuki looked petrified until he heard the robot speak, slowly being lowered onto the ground. AUGH.
He sits up, brushing himself off. ]
How... how did you do that? Can you actually talk to plants?
no subject
[Mettaton said a lot of meaningless ego-stroking stuff there, but whatever. He seems satisfied with his own deduction, and places a hand on his hip now that Miyuki's agency is once again returned to him.]
If there was magic involved, it was only my natural charm. I have that effect on people. Plants are not exempt!
no subject
[ Though now, he's going to actually... get a good look at Mettaton. He should've figured this out already, but he was busy trying to not look even worse in the vines. A robot...?
...
A robot! ]
R-Right, is that true... [ Though Mettaton's voice did work on those vines. Yep, that's definitely what it was. ] I never thought I'd meet a robot with a... soothing voice like that.
no subject
Of course you didn't. But how could you begin to imagine such a chance meeting, having never met any exceptionally handsome robots in your life?? [He rests his fingertips against his pink chest.] I'm Mettaton! A voice this nice suits a superstar, so I'm not shocked that you find it enchanting. I get that a lot.
no subject
It's impressive though, how amazingly cocky this guy seriously is. ]
I'm Shirogane. Miyuki Shirogane-- it's good to... meet you? [ For the most part? ]
no subject
[Just in case that questioning air was because he hadn't yet made up his mind about that.]
And a pleasure of mine in return. Now. What were you doing out here in the first place to get caught up like that?
no subject
[ Except maybe whistle off-key? But come on, he can't possibly be blamed for that. ]
no subject
Mettaton reaches forward to brush one last piece of moss or something off of Miyuki's shoulder. The ground has a lot of debris.]
It's not as though I'm judging. Even if it weren't for the sake of fresh air. Only curiosity from my corner, beautiful! You're fortunate, that a hero would come upon you. But now you can go along your merry way. Getting "Fresh Air."
