the temple of beginnings.we're all a little mad here.
Needless to say, the Circle has been out of sorts as of late.
Fortunately, the weather has stabilized — residents will find that they are no longer plagued with snowstorms or heat waves. However, it appears that the flora and fauna have...come to life. Vines may wind around your feet and legs, entrapping you in a vice-like grip. They will eventually let go, but it seems like you need to speak nicely to them first. Bizarre, but it'll get the job done.
Mushrooms have also sprouted and now sing at you when you pass by — they aren’t particularly good singers either. Trees extend their branches to poke at you from behind, but when you turn around you’ll find that no one is there.
...And worst of all, the flowers seem to be especially privy to your thoughts; when you’re close, they’ll blab out whatever is on your mind at the moment and will only be silenced once they are picked. Best of luck surviving in this more, er, animated environment! Perhaps even plant-life can be reasoned with…? Or destroyed.
That’s always an option, isn’t it? oh my god they were roommates.
It isn’t a proper welcome until you’ve picked out your room! In the hallways, you may find a table or two offering cookies and tea as you survey your newfound surroundings. They seem to be left by invisible people . . . weird? The Unseen Servants seem to be playing a bit more nicely from your arrival, and seem to be apologizing for their antics with sweets! (These cookies, neverfear, are not magically cursed. They are just normal cookies.)
These rooms are a bit magical, you see — should you decide to room with another person (or multiple people), you’ll find that the room itself will accommodate your needs and expand accordingly. They look the same for the most part, so some might say that it would be wise to make your decision based on what your neighbors are like.
Say hello or potentially someone else’s room by accident; it’s a bit of a Russian roulette.
Regardless, it seems that this is your new home in sense of the word. Make the most of it! wildcard.
The Temple is a pretty big place! The Forest of the Fey stretches on endlessly, Lake Dona (and the resident Nessie) is free to explore, and there are plenty of creatures who are curiously inspecting the new arrivals.
The wyverns seem to be particularly precocious today, given the singing mushrooms, the psychic flowers, and the new people checking into new rooms! They are relatively harmless (as are most of the creatures in the Temple), but can be pretty annoying . . . especially if you have something resembling a snack in your hand.
At any rate, free to explore the rest of the Temple, the Forest, or the Lake at your leisure! Unless otherwise designated in the bestiary, everything is free to play/free to explore. :)

Ruki Makino | Open
[She’d mostly laid low after returning from Akvos. First it was because she was dealing with the fact that an entire world was gone. Then it was the strange weather being annoying and the cards appearing in the sparring ring were just ridiculous. Now, she’s just bored. There are no Digimon battles to be had here and she had nothing to really occupy her time like most of the adults scrambling to get things organized or whatever.
She decides to take her wandering outside, wishing for anything that she had something to listen to music on. At least then walking wouldn’t be so boring too.]
Ugh, I’m so BORED.
Does this place have ANYTHING to offer besides worried adults?
[Ruki stops in her tracks. The voices seemed to be her thoughts...but they were coming from a strange, squeaky voice. She looks around for a source.]
Hey! Who said that?
B. [Bathhouse Bouquet]
[Ruki had discovered the bath house some time ago and enjoyed visiting it regularly. Most of the stuff here was very Western, which didn’t necessarily bother her, but it was a little reminder of home to have an actual bath house to visit.
She was expecting to just have a relaxing soak, but instead when she enters the Bathhouse she finds it filled with song. It takes her a moment to notice the mushrooms sprouting near the entrance she stands at. She frowns.]
I guess this isn’t going to be relaxing after all.
[She pokes at one with her toe, it’s “voice” going up an octave.]
Ugh.
C. [Time for Tea]
[She’s wandering the temple, still bored. Maybe she can find one of the servants to mess with, though it’ll be a challenge in itself to find the invisible servants. As if on cue, Ruki notices a tray seemingly float down an adjacent hall.]
Hey! There you are!
[The servant takes a turn and Ruki chases after it. Unfortunately the tray is now stationary on a table and she can’t tell if the servant is still there or not.]
Darn.
[She catches a whiff of warm, chocolate chip and tea. She eyes the cookies for a moment and then reaches for one..]
Well, I guess a snack wouldn’t hurt.

[ yang is honestly really glad that the weather seems to have stabilized for the better. it's not snowing, nor is it extremely hot; it's nice, just like the flora and fauna. it's a pretty sight to see, conveniently right outside of the temple, and yang takes a moment to admire it until she feels something poke her shoulder.
she turns to look, thinking it's someone trying to get her attention, and then... nothing. nobody's there. ]
...Huh? [ she turns around. ah--someone's there. she assumes that whoever's behind her was the one who poked her. ] Oh, hey, did you need something?
b. flower hell
[ yang's taking a walk outside, partly to explore and see what lies beyond the temple, partly to clear her head. arriving here has been...a lot to take in. a lot to process. she's still worried about remnant and her friends back at home, especially her teammates, and there's a pit in her stomach that's been bothering her since she showed up here. and raven...she was here one moment, gone the next. she doesn't understand it.
she needs this to try and calm her head.
but she's not really going to get that, it seems, because suddenly: ]
Mom just...disappeared. It's like the only thing she ever does is run.
[ yang freezes in her tracks and her eyes go wide. she's on high alert and starts looking around from side to side. those were her thoughts. vocalized. ] Who's there?!
c. fighting ring
[ yang's discovered the training ring, and she doesn't hesitate to approach one of the training dummies. she doesn't even bother picking up a weapon; the only weapons she needs are her fists. she looks down at her cybernetic arm, flexes her fingers before balling them into a fist. she closes her eyes, takes in a deep breath before getting into a fighting stance. ]
Well...here goes nothing.
[ she throws a punch at it, and suddenly, the dummy lurches forward. yang lets out a startled yelp, backing away just in time as it comes to life...as well as the one next to it. two dummies, both with their eyes on yang.
but she regains composure fast and fights back. the dummies put up a really good fight. but as she fights them off, more and more of them start coming alive. it just seems like it doesn't end. if there's someone else in the vicinity, she'll turn to them and gesture towards the dummies with her head. ]
I could use a little help here!

Ren Suzugamori | OTA
[While Ren has some mixed feelings about being here - especially with the resounding silence in his mind that's throwing him off in a way he hasn't felt in some years now - the forest is providing more than enough in the way of distractions for now. He loves flowers, so while he's roaming around (with a brown cat curled around his shoulders, apparently completely asleep despite its human walking around beneath it), he's even more delighted to come across some flowers that are doing much more entertaining things than just staying stuck in the ground.
Unfortunately, before too long, he does find himself on the receiving end of the vines tangling around his ankles and legs. Or "unfortunately", considering his immediate response is to start running his hands over them delightedly as if petting an animal, complete with affectionate (if someone airheaded-sounding) chatter.]
Oh, do you want company, then? I don't know if this is the right way to get it, but maybe I can help you out... [He then calls out to anyone else who happens to be in the vicinity, voice airy and light.] Hey, do you want to come play with these flowers too? I think they're lonely...
[They're also vines and not actual flowers, but he seems just as happy with them either way.]
--
[B: roommates]
[Ren is the kind of person who's very used to having people around him in some form at all hours, so he really doesn't want to be in a situation where he's living completely alone. As such, rather than just go into the first empty room he sees, he's drifting through quite a few of them - he won't intentionally go into a room that seems occupied, but he might hang in the doorway of one in much the same way he will in any room that seems empty but has someone else looking around it. His cat is still sleeping around his shoulders, so that's a bonus, maybe.]
Hello...? [Even if there's someone in plain sight and he's looking directly at them, the greeting is toned vaguely enough that it's kind of hard to tell if he's actually registered their presence until he goes on.] Is this one yours?
--
[C: bathhouse blitz (nudity warn since it's baths)]
[As soon as Ren finds out there's a bathhouse, he is there immediately. And also bypassing the gender-divided baths, because he couldn't really care less about that sort of thing. So anyone who enters the mixed bath may come face-to-face with a (tastefully submerged, at least) young man with his elbows resting against the side of the bath and his chin resting on balled hands. He tilts his head a little curiously at anyone who comes in, the forelocks of his hair following the motion. He's put the rest of his hair up in a sensible bun with a length of ribbon he probably brought with him, but for some reason he's just left the long parts at the front free. From the absent-minded tone that comes when he speaks, though, one could be forgiven for thinking he just forgot.]
Oh, hello. I was worried I was going to be alone here the whole time... [Apparently it's a genuine concern for him in this case, because his tone is completely innocent of any sign of it being anything else. His cat is also curled up next to the bath...still asleep. It's very determined to sleep through this entire day, it seems.]

[ Of course, when it comes to magic, everything has to be weird as hell, doesn't it?
Ryoko had already had enough weird stuff happen to her for one lifetime, and already felt the weight of having to get reacclimated to a new place so soon on her shoulders. Still, it was nice to take a walk and be able to take in the sights of someplace new. At least, it was.
She took a moment to glance down at her feet, noticing mushrooms slowly starting to bloom into view and a low hum starting up in her ears. Going to slowly slip over them, suddenly she hears an indistinct song, sharp and out of tune, and immediately giving her something approximating a headache. ]
Ugh... hey...! [ More appear to be forming around her, just barely making places she can step around. It seems like they're singing in a round, except some are immediately forgetting their place and others are attempting to harmonize on two completely different keys. ]
Enough already...! [ Please help. Please make her deaf or something. ]
b. it's never that easy, you know.
[ In an odd bit of luck, Ryoko's managed to make it to an empty room. It wasn't that she didn't want to room with anyone else, but more that she just needed some time to ruminate on what's going on for once. It didn't feel dangerous here, despite the mishap earlier. Sighing, she took a seat on her bed, falling backwards. She felt around in one of her pockets, fishing out a diluted and greyed out gem in her possession.
Did this mean everything was normal? Had she lost her own magic? In that case then, what was she meant to do if anything popped up here? What was she meant to do if she went back? She closed her eyes, trying to get her mind off of it... and yet. ]
I shouldn't be here. Am I still running away?
[ Ryoko sat up in a hurry, glancing around and catching a glimpse of something that seemed to be growing out of the wall near her headboard. A small tulip, which... certainly couldn't have been there when she entered the room in the first place. More importantly, was this... ]
But, I never asked to stay there anyway. Maybe it's okay that I left.
Huh?!
[ What was it even saying?! She places her hand over the petals of the tulip, looking around. It'd be an issue if anyone else were to show up, so she'd have to figure something out and fast...! ]
c. and we all float on anyway
[ It felt like she had just been near a large lake... but certainly, not one this large.
Ryoko stood near Lake Dona, half making sure she wasn't being followed. It might be suspicious sure, but she had to make sure of a few things. For instance: trying to form a closed space. Yet as hard as she tried, she wasn't able to get anything together. Nothing came out, she wasn't able to transform, and for the first time in a long time, she felt... for lack of a better term, normal.
The best she could do was think about it. Maybe this was an in-between place where she'd be able to catch a ride back home. Well... to where her home was going to be. For the most part, she may have to figure out where home was in the first place, right? So, she'd have to think about it. And think.
Of course, it didn't help if something decided to slowly rear its head out of the lake and towards Ryoko, looming near. It took her a second to notice, before she opens her eyes and... ]
Gyah!! [ She quickly steps away, staring at her new friend-- the very impressive looking plesiosaur staring back at her. It didn't look like it was going to do anything, but it was still gigantic and she had no idea what to do. Except, maybe... slip away?
...
Maybe not? ]
...Uh. Hell...o? [ As she slowly inches back towards Nessie, preparing to hold up a hand to pet her... except, she's hesitating to make contact. And hesitating. And... hesitating.
Wow. She has no idea what to do now. ]
d. wildcard, of course
[ Catch Ryoko anywhere, because she's gonna be looking around and taking in the new place! Feel free to hit me up if you have any ideas! ]
c.
Then he sees something else weird, and it's all back down the drain. Jun is talking a slow walk around when he sees a dinosaur raise itself from the water.
He thinks it's a dinosaur, anyway. Jun squints at it from several meters away before approaching to attempt to defuse the stalemate. ]
You could ask if you want to pet it. I think it's smart enough to listen.
[ In response the huge head bobs down and up, almost a nod. ]

nott the brave ( ota )
[So consider this: Nott's just had the worst two months or so of her life. It's late Duscar already, she's been at sea for way too long, apparently they're pirates now, why do they have to go underwater so much, there are so many ghosts involved, they almost died like forty times and Nott went to bed bloodied to fuck last night, basically hanging by a thread. And Caleb's quiet sadness and guilt were so hard to talk over. And then he was just gone. Or more exactly, she was.
Her whole body still aches from the battle the night before, but worst of all: she's got nothing. No spells, no items, no weapons, just her Ring of Water Walking. Which is going to do her wonders now that she's back on land, huh?
She feels so utterly alone and vulnerable that she's mostly looking out to avoid people at this point, ducking around corners and trying to keep away from the main walkways, but she also knows she's got to get ahold of some booze stat. If she has to round this out with a hangover after about eight straight months of having at least a solid buzz, she will just give up, lie down in the middle of the road, and let whatever creatures live here go to town if it comes to it.
And she kinda likes being alive, still. Even if life is the worst.
After attempting to raid the kitchen for booze and finding a solid zip, she's just sort of edging herself across the Circle where fewer people seem to tread, completely not noticing the shrill singing of the mushrooms at her feet.
Basically, the perfect mark for a group of jerk vines to decide to snap up. For most people, they'd get a solid hold on the legs, but for Nott, who's about half the size of most people, she's basically in a vice grip instantly, smacking her head hard against the dirt and grass amidst shrill shrieks while she's dragged a solid foot in an instant.
She doesn't know what to do at this point. She doesn't have backup. The Mighty Nein are nowhere to be seen. So she just lets out an ear-piercing scream at the top of her lungs, and doesn't stop.]
HEY I'M AN INNOCENT LITTLE HALFLING GIRL AND I'M BEING KIDNAPPED BY THE FUCKING WILDLIFE!!! HEY!!! HEY!!! ANYONE!!! ANYONE AT ALL!!!
[Meanwhile, the flowers around her are starting to loudly announce, "I'M JUST A GOBLIN AND LIFE IS A NIGHTMARE" and "IF MY BLOOD ALCOHOL DROPS BELOW 0.10 I WILL PROBABLY SELF DESTRUCT" and "I'M TOO YOUNG AND HIDEOUS TO DIE." Nott is a little too distracted to notice.]
II. A REAL GIRL NEXT DOOR
[At some point after Nott's horrible experience with things that are green and aren't her, she can be found around the housing area basically begging the Unseen Servants to supply her with, just. Well.]
Ale. Please. Whiskey. I'll take wine spritzers at this point. I don't fucking care.
[Instead, they seem pretty set on just handing her cookies, at which she yanks down the mask covering her mouth and shoves them into what can only be described as a dentist's worst nightmare. Watching her eat is like watching a train crash. Guess beggars can't be choosers?
She is soon easily found picking up scattered crumbs off the floor and eating them because dignity doesn't have a home here.]
III. BUT IS THE WINE AERATED
[Yep. Yep, that's some vertigo. Here comes a migraine on its tail. And we are officially in the worst hangover this side of Wildemount.
This isn't like getting hit by a Lesser Restoration while you're nice and drunk. Nope. This is your blood and organs screaming at you because they no longer know how to function without a nice brine involved.
Nott ends up back in the kitchen area and just looks like death warmed over as she resigns herself to pour a glass of water. She looks at it like it's personally offended her family, sniffs it, pinches her nose, and drinks.
And she spits it out immediately. When the many flecks of liquid spray across the nearby counter, it looks horrifically orange, like she's... bleeding, maybe?]
That's... not water.
[She doesn't spare any time before she's quickly chugging the whole glass. She finishes with a glint in her eye, a wipe of her mouth, and just starts laughing.]
Gods. I don't know what just happened, but I hope it happens again.
[Good news Nott: no more drinking water ever again. Your body will love that.]
i.
The Legends are rubbing off on her.
So grabbing a dead branch from nearby she charges in, dropping the branch down on some of the vines in an effort to knock their prey free while trying to drown out the noise around her.]
Get off, you mind reading asshole.
[Yep, that's her hero snark. She's working on it.]

Mettaton. OTA
It's a surprise to him when he chances upon somebody else in the forest, caught up in vines and surrounded by the pop of bright flowers. Mettaton halts and flashes a grin at the sight before him, but doesn't make any immediate move to free his newfound company.]
Are you aiming to impress a passerby, tying yourself up like that? It's a good look, darling. You make it seem so natural... I'm impressed.
[Because they definitely intended to let vines wrap them up! Earth to Mettaton: not everyone does things anticipating to make a show out of it!]
B. oh my god they were roommates.
When somebody enters, Mettaton awaits them, an unfamiliar, anachronistic object residing within, a metallic rectangle juxtaposed against the natural stone and linen. It might be easy to assume that this is somebody's unwanted trash, if not for his anticipatory pose, propped up against his hand in a lounging position. These not-locked doors are great.]
SO. YOU'VE ARRIVED. I WAS WAITING TO SEE WHO MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR... THIS.
[Mettaton broadly sweeps his arm to gesture at the room itself and whatever features set it apart from other bare-bones rooms within the temple. And if there is no decoration, perhaps he's referring to just that.]
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY. THAT A PERSON'S DESIGN CHOICES ARE REFLECTIVE OF THEIR PERSONALITY... FASCINATING.
[And what should he have gathered about the owner of this room?]
C. other
B.
lotor had stepped out of his room for ten minutes. ten minutes, to find food, and to take stock of who was now in the temple. his room, which is clean, neat, full of books and various notes that lotor has compiled. in addition, there is a cool electrified sword, and his altean broadsword in the corner.

konoha | jinba | ota
[Since their return to the Temple, Konoha has been keeping busy. If she does laundry, fixes meals, weeds the gardens, repairs her harness, gathers herbs, dries fruit... She doesn't have to think about Akvos.
But she has to rest sometime, has to go to her room and be alone with her thoughts sometime... Unless she can find yet another distraction. One that presents itself in the form of-]
Oh, hello...
[A new neighbor? Konoha pauses, sticking her head in to the open door curiously, her arms full with a large basket of fruit that surely must weigh a decent amount despite how little she seems to be straining.]
Did you just get here?
[The centaur might seem just like a human girl, what with just her upper half peeking around the doorframe... If she wasn't weirdly tall?]
02 | TANGLED
[A routine trip to a clearing in the forest she often visited to harvest herbs had taken... a turn. All four legs bound tight in vines, the arm that would have been able to reach the knife in her harness pouch likewise disabled, Konoha has been stuck in place for... a while now.
Not knowing about the plants' penchant for sweet talk, she's not been able to free herself, sweat frothing on her flanks and both sets of lungs panting softly as she stands in place, hocks trembling with the failed efforts she's put into trying to force herself free.
First Akvos, then the hallucinations of the home she feared she'd never see again, then the way the rift had swallowed nearly everyone, now she's stuck and-

Ritsu Kageyama | ota
[Ritsu is adjusting, although to him it doesn't feel like it yet. The food didn't sit well with him at first, but it was better than going hungry. The sudden, giddying lack of structure and creature comforts - honestly, did those ever mean much to him? He's not used to not seeing his brother, but he doesn't mind biding his time until a way out presents itself. He's not going to waste energy fretting about it the way he might have last year. For the most part.
There is one thing, however. One habit that's hard to kick. ...No, it's not a habit. In the absence of further instructions, he should be practising with this "magic" they all have in place of psychic powers, right? Then he's not reaching for ways to kill time at all! He's just looking ahead.
To be more specific, looking into people's bedrooms. By teenage standards, he's discreet about it. If he looks through the doorway and sees someone in there, you'll barely have time to catch his mildly disappointed frown before he moves on, unless you stop him. If something in a currently-unoccupied room looks like a personal effect to him, he'll leave those alone. What he's scanning the floors and rifling through rough-hewn drawers for is... ordinary things. Missable things. Cutlery or plates that the Servants didn't pick up yet. Cloth, paper, metal. Things that could be manipulated, sharpened, thrown... Things.
Naturally this means he'll spend a little longer raiding messier rooms, but he's moving through them with such an intense look of focus that you could probably sneak up on him either way. Or perhaps you walk by just as a vine pokes out from a crack in the masonry, curling itself around his unsuspecting heel...]
[B: outdoors]
[His kleptomania is limited, but the temple grounds much less so. It's one thing to read about places like this in Europe or wherever; quite another to walk through one yourself, trying to get a sense of where it sits in the lay of the land.
One part that never came up in school is the tiny dragons. They may or may not keep mistaking his hair for a bird's nest. He has not, in fact, concealed any food in his hair. It's wearing at his patience.
The next time he hears the flapping of wyvern wings around his head, his hand shoots out, grabbing the creature by its tail. Success! But only briefly. Within seconds, it wriggles free and escapes to the safety of a tree branch overhead, chittering indignantly all the while.
Annoying. So annoying that Ritsu feels moved to turn and call over to whoever is nearby.]
Say. [He points up at the little wyvern.] Do you know a good way to get rid of these?
[wildcard]
(hmu!)
b.
No. Wave your arms around a bit more, scare them off?
[ It's only a half serious suggestion. Jun narrows his eyes at the wyverns above, adjusting to his own new powers—hearing the words of beings that aren't humans is pretty bizarre—and continues with a small shrug. ]
Are they hurting you or just being pests?

Quentin Sollys | OPEN
[Quentin misses the freak snow storms. But he's used to missing snow, given that he's spent the last five years and change in San Francisco.
He could do without being attacked by plants though. And that's what this was! An attack. The blond boy is a pureblood Daoine Sidhe (though his human disguise is fully in place now); he's usually the picture of grace and poise. Somehow the vines wrapping around his feet managed to ruin any hope for grace he might have had. Instead he topples over, barely managing to get his hands down to soften his fall.]
Hey..! What was that for? [He's scolding the vines, which only tighten around his legs. There's a skittering from behind him and a small creature -- that looks like the cute-but-spiky offspring of a cat and the pricklier parts of a rosebush. The rose goblin rattles its spines, and Quentin frowns.] I'm okay, Spike.
[Just stuck. Spike rattles again and goes to talk some sense into the vines. The rose goblin is mostly plant itself, so maybe it can negotiate a truce. Quentin sighs and is about to try to disentangle himself when a small unfamiliar voice chirps out,]
'That's not very dignified for a future king! At least no one saw.'
[Quentin freezes.] Who said that? [...that was what he was thinking, but those things don't get said out loud. That's not how secrets work!]
[ 2 - Move In Day ]
[Quentin has the rose goblin in one arm -- the little cat-sized Fae minding its thorns and looking out at world, enjoying the ride for the moment -- and a cookie in his free hand. He hasn't eaten it yet. In fact, he's eyeing it suspiciously after the last snack he had here. But he's starving.
Which is his usual state of being.
With a shrug, he takes a bite before he turns to the nearest door door. Okay. He'd found a room earlier, he may as well settle in. He pushes the door open only to freeze... and stare at whoever is inside.] This... is not my room. Sorry.
[ 3 - Network ]
I know it's a long shot, but has anyone met anyone here named October? Or Toby?
Like I said, long shot, but. I guess it can't hurt to ask.
So. What're we supposed to do now?

["Wait until things stabilized," she'd said. "It'll be fine," she said. T'would seem that, like most things in this blasted Circle, the flora and fauna have decided to make her eat her words.
The mushrooms have been grating, to say the least. She'd had to cover her ears at one point because, unlike a certain Nightingale, these blasted things appeared to be tone deaf. 'Twas bad enough that they were even making noise of any sort at all.
She'd paused only for a moment on her way to the kitchens. Now, there are vines wrapped up her legs. Saying:] Unhand me this instant! [-had not been very successful. In fact, that is probably why they are now up to her waist.]
Well, this is rather karmic. [How many had she killed with this? She glares down at the vines, muttering something under her breath that apparently isn't very pleasant because the next second she's hissing as the grip tightens.
For all the good she's doing, she might as well be shouting "Help. Police. Murder."]
B ☽ Who on earth would want to be roommates with a witch?
[At present, the room seems unoccupied... though there are two very old but well cared for books on a small table by a bed (just don't ask what kind of leather they are bound in), and a staff and two spears leaning against the wall beside them. The staff is cold to the touch, icy air emanating from it. The spear next to it crackles with electricity, and the one beside it gives off dark energy of some sort.
Combined with the dried herbs hanging by a long string on one wall and what looks to be a makeshift chemical lab, the room may not presently be occupied, but it is obvious someone has made a claim on much of the space... but who on earth would have interest in this odd mix of things? One may not have to wait long on the answer, but may as well make oneself comfortable.]
C ☽ The "screw this" option
[Once freed of the vines, Morrigan sought refuge in the one place she felt most comfortable. Shifting into her dragon form, she rested beneath the boughs in the forest, simply listening to the animals for a time being.
That is, until one wyvern decided that her back was a perfect place to curl up. another saw this, grew slightly jealous of its kin's new perch, and joined the first. Then a third, and a fourth.
Suddenly there's a red-violet dragon with so many yellows, greens, and light brown wyverns curled up either on or next to her that she huffs a bit of smoke in annoyance, but remains still.]
Of course. If 'tis not vines, it's these. [Yet for how annoyed she is, she oddly doesn't seem to mind it. ...Except if someone's watching.]
D ☽ Wildcard
[ Come at me with whatever! Though if you want to ask me first about a prompt, feel free to poke me at

[ seems like not even the temple's safe from all the plant terrors. yang sees the vines tangling around her, and she immediately runs over to her new friend's (yes, friend!!) aid. she may not have her semblance, but she trusts that her strength alone will be enough to get morrigan out of this.
she's not aware that simply asking nicely will get her comrade out of trouble. then again, yang's used to dealing with...most things with her fists, so. ]
Hang on!

Sirius Black | open
[Some are more mad than others, in the case of Sirius' fami!y. Luckily, he hasn't spoken to them in more than a few years, but that doesn't mean it doesn't linger. Sirius is stalking the gardens, on the hunt for Astoria or anyone who might tell him a way home. He looks fairly furious, anyone who knows him well would know he is in a mood. The flowers he passes by, however, will tell anyone who's listening that his mind is bent on murder and revenge. He's had enough of their whispers, though, and is rounding on one with a snarl.] Will you shut up?!
oh my god they were roommates
[Maybe some tea will settle him. Or, maybe the presence of Remus will. Eventually, Sirius makes his way to his rooms, settling in with a cup of tea and biscuits and looking generally disgruntled. He would welcome company, but he likely won't be pleasant.]

Remus Lupin | open
[When you have had the sort of week Remus has, dealing with plants that keep broadcasting your thoughts to the outside world doesn't reeeaaaally seem that helpful. He's been trying to mostly keep away from them as a result, but that can be easier said than done.
'Can't believe they're gone' 'How do we leave?' 'Got to find Peter' 'make him pay' 'Harry's so little']
Could you please stop that?

[ As much as Jun would love to find somewhere nice and quiet and enjoy a good book, it seems that these magical walls have no concept of consistency. Or privacy. He settles for using his time to explore.
When the flowers start speaking people's thoughts aloud, a thought of Jun's own, one that he didn't really want exposed, is spat out. ]
I can't believe I have to hear people's thoughts here too.
[ Jun very audibly says 'ugh'. If someone's nearby, he does notice, and glances up to start a conversation with a small shrug and a statement. ]
At least I'm not the weirdest person in the room anymore.
B. WILDCARD WYVERNS.
[ He'd been holding onto a cookie, wanting to break it open to check for any dastardly additives, but when a wyvern swoops down and takes it from him he kind of just... sighs.
It just gets more tiring when he realizes he can understand the chittering of the strange creature. (I got it! I got the food! I want more, I want more...) And it's so loud. Jun walks closer to the tree and looks up to chastise it. ]
There's plates of cookies over there. Go steal from those, not from me. It's more efficient!
[ He definitely just looks like he's yelling at a tree. ]

Rimuru / Open
[ since he is so new, the best Rimuru can do is explore this new place. That's how his adventures started back in the world where he came from, so he assumes that's how they will start here as well. He has met a couple of interesting people, and he is all in this to make new friends and see what the whole thing is about.
Wonderland is still the theme, or at least those singing mushrooms remind him of that. As a slime, the vines can't really wrap around him since he'll just squish through them and continue on his way, until he meets the flowers.
"I wish the Kinji were here", "it's pretty lonely now", "is the village alright?", are words they speak as the blue blob passes through them. ] That is really rude, you know! [ he isn't used to telepathy, but he certainly would prefer if some flowers didn't read his mind. But no matter how annoyed he gets, it won't change the fact he really does feel a bit lonely. ]
I wonder if I can predate you. [ and said this, Rimuru flops on top of a couple of flowers, his body absorbs them, and then they dissolve inside of him. He seems to wait for something to happen, but there is an audible sigh (apparently, slimes sigh) ] ... I was expecting something more...
oh my god they were roommates
[ since he has a room, Rimuru might as well visit it! No longer in his slime form, an androgynous teenager walks through the hallway until he seems to find where he will be spending some of his time. The cookies are amazing, and he is quick to take them and eat them, with much gusto and happiness ]
So delicious~!
[ and after, Rimuru flops on the bed, rolling around for a bit ] So confy!! This is so nice! [ he just arrived and apparently doesn't feel like he has to be paranoid over everything. In fact, he is very grateful to be given this without anything in return! ]

we're all a little mad

Agent Carolina | RvB | open
[For the time being Carolina is still within that armoured suit of hers, looking like, more or less, a very tall blue robot. Those familiar with such technology could well take a stab at the fact that she isn't, in fact, mechanical, at least not on the inside. She hasn't gotten around to changing in to something a little more appropriate and less cumbersome, and that is still something that she is debating doing. Retirement had seen her out of her armour a few times, but it was still akin to a second skin for her.
It has led to her exploration of this place, seeking a more in depth look than her initial jaunt around the block had given. That she's more than a little unsettled isn't obvious, given that her face is covered by a helmet, but that alertness isn't anything new. She's never really been one to put her feet up and relax. No, she's always had to be on the go, to do something, to keep busy, and the mess leftover by Freelancer has kept her occupied.
The first few vines don't really register as she continues to move on, ripping them free as she walks, helmet sweeping as she reads that information provided to her. It's not until several weave around her leg, all but creating a noose, that Carolina does jerk to a stop. It's that contemplation, before oops, she's just tearing them free with a gloved hand and tossing the torn vines to the side. She's more careful after that though.
But of course that isn't all that this place has, is it? The off-pitched notes have even Carolina wincing, and while she might have made the Sim Troopers complement her on her singing, she knows well enough that she sucks. There may be a kick aimed at a mushroom or two, or a heavy foot coming down to smash them... If someone does happen to be nearby, there is a slight pause, before her voice comes with a slight hint of accusation.]
What? They were horrible singers.
[There isn't much to be found though, which is thoroughly frustrating. Carolina is the type of person that wants answers, that wants to understand the situation, that wants to figure it out so that she can move forward. This? This may all well be something that Caboose would dream. It has his hint of insanity to it, although she will admit that he is nice guy, just very strong, and not always the most sensible person. But her thoughts are wayward, darting back and forth.]
What the hell is this place?
If Caboose touched something, I'm going to kick his ass.
Is there no way to get in contact with Wash and the rest? He better be okay...
This is ridiculous.
It wasn't Epsilon...
Is this something to do with Temple and the machine that he built? It worked, but we stopped it and Earth wasn't destroyed.
I don't even deserve another chance with-
[And yes, she's stomping on flowers again, because what worked for the mushrooms should clearly work for the flowers. Although there seem to be a fair number of them, and in annoyance, she might add some plucking to the stomping, until she's fairly certain that she's more or less destroyed what may or may not be a flower bed...]
I swear I'm going to kill whoever is behind this.
Why won't it-
Stop!
[That growl of frustration at that barked sharp word that rings clearly, frustration etched in her very posture. An annoyance or a jest - either way Carolina is less than impressed, because she doesn't have time to be dealing with this sort of a mess.]
[Wildcard]
[She's left her little wake of destruction in her path and eventually found a quite spot to sit and try to think. Nothing at least was trying to ensnare her or sing off-key or let slip her inner thoughts. It's how she likes it. Her helmet does sit to one side, revealing that there isn't a robot inside, but rather a human being, with bright green eyes and a mess of red hair. A flower is twirled absently back and forth between her thumb and index finger, and there is a look of complete concentration on her face.
But, don't let that fool you. It's sharply that she'll turn her face towards anyone coming in her direction on the steps that she's chosen to sit on. It's a fairly good spot, allowing her a clear view of the area and a defensive spot for her back. There is an intensity to her gaze, yet also a hollowness. She might not feel like she's ready to keel over and pass out, but she is on edge now for a different reason. Frustration all but seeps from her pours, and her jaw tightens.]
What?
TDM Continue w/North
[She'll take it to mean that he wasn't running around with bandages around his neck, which really only brings more questions to mind. So, had it happened? Just how far back was he from, if that is really a thing that is happening? Caboose getting stuck on some other dimension? That's normal to her. It's Caboose. Sarge fighting things that can't be fought... Grif and Simmons and Tucker- they all have their quirks that make no sense and yet make sense in position to who they are.
She feels a headache coming on, moves to pinch her nose for a second.]
... I spoke with York earlier. I can't really- I know Wash did a lot of things after we all left Freelancer.

Shiro had been looking for good areas for team building exercises or practicing more dangerous skills. Between the bad singing, the plants grabbing people, and plants saying his thoughts it’s been difficult.
[Shiro surveys the land before him. It’s at the east temple wall and the forest isn’t that far away. Not good. The Arena is an option but he doesn’t want to rely on it for all training. They need more areas to train to expose themselves to environments best suited to their skills and abilities. Be it to improve or just to mess around and let off steam.
He still takes his time walking the length of the wall. It could be of use for people needing to camp away from the main group to get used to telepathy. He steps close to the wall and runs his hands over it. A vine slides through the grass behind him, winding around the logs set up near a small camp. He turns partly, keeling down to properly gauge the tree line from the wall. There’s enough for some types of abilities.]
…not what I’m looking for. But it wouldn’t be bad for takeoffs and landing or-
[The vine rises up whipping out at his left arm. He sees it almost too late and drops flat. It misses him.] What the-? [But if you don’t dodge it will get you instead.] Hey! Get out of the way!
The welcome board.
[Near the kitchen is a blackboard. Cats have been drawn on the left side in chalk, one of them seems to be a cat flying a fighter plane. The right side is a list of names with check marks at the side. If one checks their watch they’ll notice it’s an exact match minus any new arrivals. Shiro comes out of the kitchen, mug of coffee in hand. He smiles just a little.]
Hello. Coffee and tea were made up in the kitchen. There’s also water if you’d prefer that. Help yourself. How is it out there? Any changes other than…the special plant-life? [To anyone new he adds,] And if you have questions I’ll answer what I can. Tell me what you already know, and we can start from there.
Lion around
[Something large and heavy is stuck in the vines near the arena. It looks like it tried to climb up the wall of the arena to escape. A low leonine growl rolls through the air as the form struggles again. Yellow light spills through the vines as a foot made of metal dangling in the air attempts to raise itself. A metal cat tail tipped with black smacks against the stone wall as the foot finally finds purchase.
Shiro had been minding his own business. He flies back and forth over the temple all the time. The plants had apparently decided he wasn’t allowed and snatched him out of the air. The flowers nearby aren’t helpful. ‘This sucks!’ ‘Yes, thank you that’s exactly how I feel.’ ‘Could you please put me down?’ He sighs, shoving his nose against a flower and gets a ‘You’re not helping here!’
To anyone nearby, a mental voice speaks up,]
I think you might want to go. There’s no telling if they’ll decide your next. Unless… [What one can see if the Lion’s head raises up a fraction of an inch.] Unless you know a way to make them let me go.

Maes Hughes | FMA:B [open]
He's closer to the lake and if you are wandering around or intentionally looking for him you might come across one of the following, depending on your timing:
a) Study: The office Barabas and he had set up was great, but he'd been holed up there enough that it was starting to get unhealthy. So he was making some notes outside now. He also has a few objects strewn about and is looking over their features. This will be important because...
b) Set Up: While Maes mainly uses his ability to teleport himself, he knows he is able to teleport other objects and people both through touch and through concentration. The problem with the second part is he has to be very familiar with the object or person in order to do that. So, to set up he's attempting to teleport objects he had set up elsewhere back here to the field. You may be walking up as a random barrel appears. Once he's managed to collect some barrels, Maes begins filling them with rocks.
However, he may also accidentally teleport a person, if said person has known him here for some time. This wouldn't effect new arrivals...
c) Rest: All this teleporting is hard. Maes has dozed off near a tree and doesn't seem to notice a vine creeping down from the tree. It tickles at his nose and he swats it away. A moment later there's a loud yelp as the vine has now wrapped around his feet and yoinked him into the branches.
So much for rest...
d)Practice: There are a few things he wants to practice on his own. First, was teleporting to various areas around the Temple to work on speed and turn-around time (sorry if he suddenly appears in front of you). Second, was testing his weight limits (hence the barrels with rocks). Third, and this is more to wind down, you may just find him throwing his push daggers at one of the barrels -- no sense letting those skills go to waste either.
B - Set up
Shiro rights himself and slows to a stop above him. He glances down at Maes as he slowly descends.]
Okay, it's secure. The netting is holding up but I think it needs more adjustments. Closing it took too long. It's hanging a bit too low.
[He circles once.] Take it back and I'll adjust it.

steve rogers | open
[Steve is trying to be a good sport about all this. It doesn't do any good to hold a grudge against plants. When the mushrooms sing? He hums along with it. It's not like he's the greatest singer to ever live. He learns quickly not to turn around when he's poked by the trees. He learns to hum in his head when he passes the flowers to avoid any talk. (Thankfully the first time his thoughts were only as deep as what he'd eat this morning!)
The vines are a bit of a challenge. The first time they catch him, Steve struggles to no avail until a rescuer clues him in on what's going on. After that? He's basically made a game out of offering compliments and asking why they're doing this. He kind of gets the impression they just want to be acknowledged. It does a lot to soften him to them considering they're all basically taking him hostage over and over again.]

[Open to anything! Steve can be caught by the lake during lunch and dinner if that works for you!]

Zero | OTA
[ This isn't Zero's first time ending up in another world, but that doesn't make it much easier to figure out what's happening around him. All he really gets is that he was brought here for some purpose or another, he's missing some weapons, and that - as a robot - he's most likely screwed if he gets severely damaged here. The important things.
He's at least got his living space squared away with his fiancee, who also just so happened to end up here with him. Small miracles! But that just gave him more questions. Only one way to find out what kind of place this was, though - walk around and actually look.
And so, he wanders outside. Walking with confidence in each step, but looking around in that "I have absolutely no idea where I am" kind of way. As if the whole "looking around a lot" bit wasn't enough, the flowers chime in every so often as he passes. ]
Lower tech than the last place. Tch, figures ...
[ --among other small complaints about the lack of technology around. Every time a flower repeats it, he stops, glaring as he looks around him. ]
... Where is that coming from?
[ b - roommates ]
[ After enough wandering's been done, Zero heads back to his room to share information with Ionasal.
... Except, when he walks in, he's noticing the room seems different. It looks lived in, or there's more beds than there should be, or they're not the right sized bed ... Regardless of what the difference is, he doesn't notice immediately and just wanders right on in. ]
Hmm? ... Oh.
[ Stopping short, looking around. This ... this isn't the right one, huh. ]
[ c - wildcard ]
[ Open to pretty much everything, Zero will be wandering the Circle to gather as much information as he can before heading for his room again. He can be spotted wandering around all over the place, and will rush in to help if he spots someone having vine trouble. ]
Johanna Mason - OPEN
[Johanna has since realized she has had a power granted to her. She didn't realize it before, but now, she can feel it all around her. The plants move closer to her threateningly, and she waves her hand. They instantly fall apart. Tree branches lean down so she can grip them and climb the trunks. She's having a fucking ball. Someone approaches under the tree and Johanna calls out to them.]
Woo-loo-loo~!
oh my god they were roommates.
[She's been sitting on the bed, hopping now and again to test the springs. Still good. Part of her secretly hopes someone will wander in and talk to her. The other part of her hopes no one wants to be her roommate. She had one of those once... actually, it wasn't that bad.
The first person to darken the doorway gets a shout.]
Hey! You! This your room?

Ikaruga - OPEN
[Well. The plant life here is certainly odd. Ikaruga finds vines grasping her legs, but after telling them that it’s really not polite to grab a lady without her permission and asking them politely to release her, they do.
The singing mushrooms are strange. Ikaruga attempts to give them singing lessons. It’s an exercise in futility. They’re still off-key. Although the fact that they’re singing at all is interesting, considering their lack of vocal cords.
It’s the flowers that actually get to Ikaruga.
“Taken to be a tool for a higher being’s struggle yet again,” one flower chimes.
“I wish Vidaldus and Fukuro were here, or T--”
The flowers are abruptly cut off from further voicing Ikaruga’s private thoughts when she draws her sword and slices them in one swift arc.]
That’s quite enough.
[Cautiously, another flower speaks. “Dead flowers tell no tales.” And then it’s quiet. Message received.]
Training
[To say that she’s not happy with the alteration to her powers is an understatement. To find the magic she’s had since childhood and developed over years of training suddenly stripped from her has shaken her more than any of the dangerous situations she’s faced have ever managed. Something so fundamentally part of her life, just gone.
The power that’s in its place has the appearance of her magic aura. Glowing pink energy that looks like flower petals blowing in the wind around her. She’s not sure if this was meant to be a small comfort to her, or a mockery of what she used to have. Or it may even be that Astoria liked the aesthetic enough to want to keep it in tact.
Surely there has to be more to it than just light, so she roams some distance away to train. She finds quickly enough that she’s able to direct the petal shaped energy constructs, and that they can cut.
To test her aim and focus, she collects a handful of twigs from the ground. They’re tossed in the air, and she sets the petals on them as the twigs plummet downward. By the time they’ve reached the ground, every twig has been cut through at least once. She’s well aware that someone’s watching her, so she remarks aloud.]
Hmm. Weak compared to my magic, but not wholly useless.
training.
[ Because... well, it was pretty impressive to Jun, who hasn't seen magic in a tangible form until his arrival here. Reading thoughts isn't anything like cutting twigs into pieces. ]
You didn't explain your magic, the other day.
