the temple of beginnings.we're all a little mad here.
Needless to say, the Circle has been out of sorts as of late.
Fortunately, the weather has stabilized — residents will find that they are no longer plagued with snowstorms or heat waves. However, it appears that the flora and fauna have...come to life. Vines may wind around your feet and legs, entrapping you in a vice-like grip. They will eventually let go, but it seems like you need to speak nicely to them first. Bizarre, but it'll get the job done.
Mushrooms have also sprouted and now sing at you when you pass by — they aren’t particularly good singers either. Trees extend their branches to poke at you from behind, but when you turn around you’ll find that no one is there.
...And worst of all, the flowers seem to be especially privy to your thoughts; when you’re close, they’ll blab out whatever is on your mind at the moment and will only be silenced once they are picked. Best of luck surviving in this more, er, animated environment! Perhaps even plant-life can be reasoned with…? Or destroyed.
That’s always an option, isn’t it? oh my god they were roommates.
It isn’t a proper welcome until you’ve picked out your room! In the hallways, you may find a table or two offering cookies and tea as you survey your newfound surroundings. They seem to be left by invisible people . . . weird? The Unseen Servants seem to be playing a bit more nicely from your arrival, and seem to be apologizing for their antics with sweets! (These cookies, neverfear, are not magically cursed. They are just normal cookies.)
These rooms are a bit magical, you see — should you decide to room with another person (or multiple people), you’ll find that the room itself will accommodate your needs and expand accordingly. They look the same for the most part, so some might say that it would be wise to make your decision based on what your neighbors are like.
Say hello or potentially someone else’s room by accident; it’s a bit of a Russian roulette.
Regardless, it seems that this is your new home in sense of the word. Make the most of it! wildcard.
The Temple is a pretty big place! The Forest of the Fey stretches on endlessly, Lake Dona (and the resident Nessie) is free to explore, and there are plenty of creatures who are curiously inspecting the new arrivals.
The wyverns seem to be particularly precocious today, given the singing mushrooms, the psychic flowers, and the new people checking into new rooms! They are relatively harmless (as are most of the creatures in the Temple), but can be pretty annoying . . . especially if you have something resembling a snack in your hand.
At any rate, free to explore the rest of the Temple, the Forest, or the Lake at your leisure! Unless otherwise designated in the bestiary, everything is free to play/free to explore. :)

Please do. Not like she'll ever meet with us face to face. I guess I wouldn't if I were her either. But I also don't kidnap people, so, you know. Whatever.

Hey. [ Bringing her arm back up, she lays a hand flat against his cheek and pulls his head a little closer, pressing a kiss to his closest temple. ] It doesn't matter. We'll figure this out together somehow.

Here's hoping there's sensible footwear on the next trip out. [ not that he doubts pepper's ability to work in them, of course, but even she could use some tennis shoes. hell, even he wants tennis shoes. gucci was all well and good, but they're completely waterlogged anyway. ]

They're getting sidetracked from their original topic, or perhaps it's avoidance. Neither is unusual, but Pepper steers them back to it unerringly after a little detour-- as is her wont. ]
You can keep rooming here if you want to, you know. It's okay.

Where will you stay? [ he can't bear the thought of her being alone any more than steve being alone. and therein lies the crux of his dilemma. ]
no subject
I don't know. Next door? Probably. [ Or somewhere close by. But even as she says it, it doesn't feel right; she doesn't really want to room by herself, either. ]
no subject
We'll move next door, it's okay. [ mostly. sort of. ]
no subject
What about the kids?

[ what other option was there?? he works his jaw, trying to accept this for the positive thing it should be. ]
We'll be right next door if Steve needs anything. He's probably... sick of me anyway. It won't surprise you to know I'm not the best roomie.
no subject
Maybe not the best, but probably better than you give yourself credit for.
[ Pepper smiles sadly to herself. He's trying so hard to make this seem like a no big deal. She's not sure who Tony thinks he's kidding. ]
Sure you're not projecting a little, here? [ Nooo, Tony Stark? Psh. Never mind, ignore that. ] You know nothing stops you from having, like-- sleepovers. Unless...
[ She bites her lip. Unless they all room together. That is the ultimate solution. She's just not sure about it yet, for a few reasons. ]

Unless, we all room together. I guess I could always sleep in the next room here and there if the testosterone gets too much for me. [ Or when she needs her space, etc. Her lips quirk a little, but soon she's serious once more. ]
I just really can't stand to watch you trying your best to put on a brave face for me, when it's obvious you don't want to leave Steve to room by himself.

[ he thought he was stuck between a rock and a hard place and hadn't even considered... god, pepper potts really is amazing. he puts a hand on her face and pushes in for a quick, but passionate kiss. he injects all his love for her into that swift action before resting his forehead back against hers. ]
I think it's a great idea. Not like you have any other kind.
no subject
Well, I'm glad you approve-- but only if it's alright with Steve. This was his room, first.

[ the bed beneath them expands into a double, the walls opening out a little with a tiny vanity with a full mirror appearing in the far alcove. they'll still ask steve, but they won't really have to if the temple is already picking up their vibe, is all. ]
We're only here half the time anyway. [ he reminds her in a more somber tone. ]
no subject
[ Magic!! She's not a huge fan. Pepper heaves a deep sigh when he goes and points that out. ]
Yeah, don't remind me. I'm not exactly looking forward to it.

It's gonna be okay. Just stick with me and Steve. Astoria said... well, she's not gonna let us get separated again. Supposedly.

That's always reassuring.
